Memorial Fund will unveil his final
plan for the money.
Kenneth Feinberg has been
working for months on a proposal that
could pay thousands of dollars to

this fall's Virginia Tech football
games.

all Hokie fans to applaud the
opposition rather than boo them at
football games.
It's because colleges and
universities all over the country
embraced Virgnia Tech after the

This e-mail has been circulating
now for more than a month and it's
estimated it's been sent to thousands
of people.

that heat is heading our way. Records
will possibly be set this afternoon
(and Thursday) as highs head back to
the mid and upper 90s. Some places may
hit 100 Thursday. We'll watch a cold
front cross the area Friday with only
an isolated shower or two at best. The
boundary will drop temperatures back
into the 80s this weekend with less
humidity. As you know, we're very dry,
and rain opportunities stay low through
the weekend, with a bit better chance

And it's catching more employees
by surprise.
Another plant has closed its
doors and shut down operations.

shut down last Friday, and workers got
only two hours notice.
More than 100 people are without
work.
Some former workers say there
were signs something was wrong - for

Industries were not returned.
Workers will pick up their final
paycheck tomorrow.

since the Virginia Tech shootings.. and
now some students hope their book on
the tragedy will help the community
recover.

It's called April 16th:
Virginia Tech Remembers.
The book was compiled by Tech
Professor Roland Lazenby and seven
journalism students.
It's made up of interviews,
pictures and narrative submissions.

The book hits stores on August
28th and a portion of the proceeds will
go to a fund for the victim's families.

control over large retail developments
and may be adopting its own so-called
'big box' ordinance.
They haven't decided yet what
constitutes a "big box" store, but they
did ask city staff to start coming up
with some design standards that a
developer would have to meet before
they could start building.

an ordinance that would give developers
incentives for meeting those standards
... if they meet all the requirements,
the project would not have to go
through the usual public hearing

While some localities define a

Webb. The nation's mid section has
been experiencing major heat with
temperatures over 100. Now, some of
that heat is heading our way. Records
will possibly be set this afternoon
(and Thursday) as highs head back to
the mid and upper 90s. Some places may
hit 100 Thursday. We'll watch a cold
front cross the area Friday with only
an isolated shower or two at best. The
boundary will drop temperatures back
into the 80s this weekend with less
humidity. As you know, we're very dry,
and rain opportunities stay low through
the weekend, with a bit better chance
of rain early next week. Have a great
