the seven- point- seven million dollar

Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund will be
divided.

Victims' families have a choice:
they can take 180-thousand dollars or
divide that amount between a cash
payment and a scholarship in the
victim's name.

Some severely-injured victims are
eligible for 90-thousand dollars.
Their tuition and fees will also be
covered for the rest of their time at
Tech.

Less-severely injured victims
qualify for 40-thousand dollars, plus
tuition and fees.

Other victims, including those
who were in Norris Hall at the time,

LEO IN CHROMAKEY

LEO IN CHROMAKEY

< Webb in the SkyTracker7 Forecast
Center. Another scorcher today with
highs heading toward 100 for the
Roanoke Valley, Central Virginia and
Southside. The New River Valley and
Highlands with see afternoon highs in
the low to mid 90s. The extreme heat is
thanks to a ridge of high pressure
which has been toasting the central
U.S. On the weather maps, we're
watching a cool front to the north
which is slated to roll through our
area later tonight. This will bring a
noticeable change (for the better) in
temperatures for Friday, and especially
the weekend. If you're lucky, you'll
see a spotty shower or thundershower
Thursday afternoon or Friday,

otherwise, you'll have to wait until
late Sunday or Monday when a warm front
from the south rides northward bringing
a few scattered showers. We'll continue
to watch Hurricane Dean in the Atlantic
closely. For the latest, check out our
Hurricane Center on wdbj7.com. Have a
great day! --Jay
