GRAPHIC=UVA 2 Years ago the U-V-A Football

Staff had a rather large turnover as 3
assistant coaches left to become Head
Coaches.

This past off-season Al Groh saw

a lot less coming and going.

But the one new face on the
Cavaliers Staff, Wayne Lineburg, is
very familiar to Charlottesville and
Friday Football Extra Fans.

Richmond Times is reporting that highly
touted linebacker Olu Hall is done at
UVA.

The redshirt sophomore from
Fairfax County has not satisfied the
NCAA's eligibility requirements. The
6-3, 232-pound outside linebacker was
considered the state's player of the
year as a high school senior. He later
prepped at Hargrave.

Boyd will have a new face under

We'll hear from the head Eagle

What do you think you're gonna need?

THAT'S THE QUESTION MILLIONS OF
PARENTS, LIKE CLARE DEUTSCH, ARE ASKING
THEIR

KIDS AS THEY GET BRACE FOR BACK TO
SCHOOL SHOPPING.

NAT-SOT-Deutsch: We've quite a list

here...

FIRST ON THIS LONG ISLAND MOM'S LIST...
SETTING A BUDGET.

SOT-Clare Deutsch, Mother of 3: Don't

want to spend more than 4-500 dollars.

WITH TWO SONS IN HIGH SCHOOL -- THAT
MAY BE HARDER THAN PASSING CALCULUS
CLASS.

Greg Deutsch, High School Senior:
Usually Mom declines what I want,
because

it s always expensive.

THE AVERAGE FAMILY PLANS TO SPEND JUST
UNDER 564 DOLLARS THIS YEAR ON BACK TO

SCHOOL SHOPPING SEVEN PERCENT MORE THAN
LAST YEAR. THE BULK OF THE MONEY WILL

GO FOR CLOTHING, ABOUT 230 DOLLARS...
AND THEY'LL SPEND 13 PERCENT MORE THIS

YEAR ON THINGS LIKE LAPTOPS, MP3
PLAYERS AND IPODS.

RETAIL ANALYST WENDY LIEBMAN SAYS THE
BIGGEST MISTAKE PARENTS MAKE IS BUYING

EVERYTHING FOR SCHOOL BEFORE THE FIRST
BELL RINGS...

SOT-Wendy Liebman, WSL Strategic

Retail: Once they get back to school
they

may be shopping for other things that
peers have.

PLUS, ONCE SCHOOL STARTS RETAILERS TEND
TO SLASH PRICES.

(STANDUP at Old Navy) FROM BACKPACKS TO
BOOTS, KIDS WANT A SAY IN WHAT YOU

BUY.. IN FACT TWO THIRDS OF PARENTS SAY
THEIR CHILDREN INFLUENCE AT LEAST HALF

OF THE ITEMS THEY BUY FOR
BACK-TO-SCHOOL.

(NAT-SOT, Ryan Deutsch, High School

Freshman: Can I get these ones?

BUY WHAT THEY NEED AND NOT EVERYTHING
THEY WANT...

SOT-Liebman: You say here's the one

item, pick the one you want, OK you can

have that and that's it.

SAVE MONEY ON SCHOOL SUPPLIES BY BUYING

IN BULK WHEN THE ESSENTIALS GO ON SALE.

SAVINGS SHOULD ADD UP.
