July 26 It involves the person who is
probably the most famous student to
attend Virginia Tech -- Michael Vick.
Vick plead not guilty to a dogfighting
charge last month.
Now Vick's lawyer says the NFL
star will plead guilty.
In a statement, Vick's lawyer
said that Vick "has agreed to enter a
plea of guilty to those charges and to
accept full responsibility for his
actions and the mistakes he has made.
Michael wishes to apologize again
to everyone who has been hurt by this
matter."

-- a shooter on the loose -- and ended
with the mass murder of 32 people.

Blacksburg the town of Blacksburg brought in an
engineer from a private firm based in
Roanoke.
We know he is at the apartment
complex running more tests with a team
of investigators.
They're doing this to make sure
they're right about what caused the
carbon monoxide leak - a faulty valve
on a water heater.

Blacksburg Police and Fire
officials have been going in and out of
that building at Collegiate Suites all
day.
They're focused on the second
floor unit - apartment F - where those
5 women were found unresponsive
yesterday morning.
Police tape is still draped
around the building - and no one is
allowed in there for now.
Residents will be able to return
as soon as the investigation wraps up.
Blacksburg Police say they're
trying to get that done as soon as
possible - but the building inspector
will have the final word.

Those investigators also planned
on checking water heaters in other
building in that same apartment complex
- we're not sure if they got around to
that yet.

But on Sunday morning the Virginia Tech
sophomore didn't feel good and neither
did some of her roommates.

One of the familiar faces on
campus today was Virginia Tech Police
Chief Wendell Flinchum. He was often
the calming voice at the center of the
Tech tragedy.
Rachel sat down with the chief to
talk about the new school year.

Virginia Tech police department for 23
years.
But he was chief for only 4
months when a madman went on a rampage.

The media often mis-take a "NOT
guilty" plea for some declaration of
innocence.
Morva is not necessarily saying
he's innocent.
The "not guilty" plea alone is
not some indication that Morva is
deranged... that he's failing to accept
his guilt in the face of what may seem
to be overwhelming evidence.
He has an absolute right to a
trial, to make the state prove his
guilt.
It doesn't matter whether he did
the things the authorities say he did.
He is innocent unless they can prove he
killed McFarland... and then killed

We tend to think of revenge as a
pejorative term, that it's a bad thing,
that we shouldn't fall to that, that
that's a base emotion. Is there still
some room for revenge, or at least the
motive, the interest in being able to
hold somebody accountable?
IT'S A HUMAN REACTION. AS SUCH IT'S
VERY VALID. IT'S A MATTER OF HOW DO I,
AS AN INDIVIDUAL WHO SEEKS REVENGE,
DIRECT MY REVENGE.

The plea puts the Atlantic
Falcons quarterback's career in
jeopardy and leaving him subject to a

looking for William Morva, the day
Derrick McFarland died.
He was a security officer at
Montgomery Regional Hospital and was
killed while protecting his co-workers.

As the search for William Morva

classes at Tech last year...authorities
were scouring Blacksburg for him.
On the morning of August 21st,
the dreaded words -officer down - came
across the scanner.

lawyer says the N-F-L star will plead
guilty to federal dogfighting
conspiracy charges.

hurry.
Two Tech sophomores are in
critical condition at UVA medical
center. They are Kirsten Halik and
Kristin Julia.
Three others are to be recovering
well. Duke Medical Center says
Elizabeth Burgin, Carolyn Dorman, and
Nichole Howarth are conscious and
alert, in good condition.

Montgomery County schools on
Wednesday. Like the University
community, the schools are still
recovering from the events of April
16th.

morning, teachers were all preparing
their classrooms, reviewing text books,
and comparing notes with Principal
Danny Knott.
Several of the school's students lost
parents in the shootings.
And many others have close ties to
Virginia Tech. So everyone at the
school was effected by the tragedy.

Danny Knott says the school will be
reviewing its response to the events of
