shaken, after hearing about an apparent
murder suicide that left a man and
three children dead.

bodies yesterday morning at the home on
Jonestown Road, after the department
was asked to check on the Sims family.
Investigators believe 41- year-
old Edward Sims Junior shot his three

alert system on campus following the
April 16th tragedy.
And yesterday, the system was put
to the test after a student was grabbed
by a man on campus.

from the university around one o-clock
yesterday afternoon.
A female student was approached
by an older man who offered her a ride
to her next class.
When she said no, he went to grab
her but she was able to get away.
He's described as a black
man, about 40 years old, 5'8-5'10 with
a salt and pepper beard.
He had on green tshirt, khaki
shorts and a white baseball hat with a
tan brim, with 'Nigeria' written in
green.

The news comes more than
a week after a carbon monoxide buildup
sent more than 20 residents of the
Collegiate Suites to the hospital.

as week two began in Bob Shell's felony
homicide case.
The Radford photographer is
accused of giving his 19 year-old model
a lethal dose of morphine.

VO-NAT Marion Franklin died after a
photo shoot at Shell's studio in June
2003.
Yesterday, a key witness for the
prosecution - the medical examiner -
talked about pictures that police gave
him -pictures that Shell took of
Franklin.
The medical examiner confirmed
that Franklin was already dead when
Shell snapped the photos.
He also said Franklin died from a
morphine overdose - and other drugs
contributed to her death.
The defense also called one of
Shell's models to the stand - who
testified Shell never offered her or
other models drugs.
Shell says 23 people could
potentially be called to the stand in
his defense.
