Marathon swimmer Skip Storch set
out to swim around Manhattan unassisted
and complete the feat in less than 33
hours and 30 minutes.
That record was set by Stacy
Chanin in 19-84 at the age of 23.
Storch is 50 years old and
suffers from a pulmonary disease in
which inflamed cells form in the lungs
and heart.
On his quest to break the record,
Storch must tread water during his two
