five thousand dollar fine...that's what
jurors have recommended for Radford
photographer Bob Shell.

Yesterday Earlier in the day, they found
Shell guilty of involuntary
manslaughter and seven other sex and
drug related charges.

This conviction stems from the
2003 death of 19 year-old Marion
Franklin.

She died from a morphine overdose
following a photo shoot at Shell's
Radford studio.

His formal sentencing hearing is
October 26.

That's when the judge will decide
to accept or deny the jury's
recommendation.

In the meantime, Bob Shell will

be in the New River Valley Regional
Jail.

new facility, but just before game time
the mood quickly changed.

Right around seven o'clock, it

started to pour and you could hear
thunder and see lightning in the
horizon.

As a result, the teams were
ordered off the field and fans were
encouraged to take cover.

As we saw ,some waited it out,
others ran for their vehicles, and a
few decided to have some fun in the
rain.

Eventually the game was postponed
until Monday afternoon at one o'clock.

But before all this, everything
was going well, in fact the game was
pretty much a sell out.

been a long time coming.

There were the on-going problems
at Victory Stadium and then last year
the Patriots had to play all their home
games on the road.

the new football season.

superfan contest was held for Hokie

Participants were judged on creativity

joint-effort by the University and the
City of Roanoke, as well as Hokie
cheerleaders, the Corps of Cadets and
of course, the Hokie football team.

led the case against three duke
lacrosse players was held in criminal
contempt of court today.

day in jail.

The judge said Nifong withheld
D-N-A evidence that would have cleared
the lacrosse players of sexual assault
charges.

The charges were dropped
anyway...but the judge said Nifong's
