British boots have been on the ground
in Basra since the invasion. Now,

they're giving the southern city BACK
to the Iraqis.

The last garrison pulled out of the
Basra Palace complex, once the main

British base which has taken a repeated
battering under mortar and rocket

fire.

They've headed to Basra's international
airport, where the last remaining

5,500 British troops are now stationed.

Although the air base regularly comes
under fire too, it's considerably SAFER

than the center of the city.

Local Iraqis say the pullout is a sign
of progress.

crash

County near the North Carolina border.

State police say six girls all
between the ages of 14 and 17 were
riding in a pickup truck when it veered

off the road, flipped over and caught
on fire.

Two girls died at the scene, one
died on the way to the hospital, and
it's still not clear how the other
three survivors are doing.

Vick said he'd turned his life over to
God after pleading guilty to
dogfighting charges last week.

On Saturday, the Hampton Roads
native was at a Christian school -
spending time with boys who have no
father figures to turn to.

Yesterday, he and his family
attended church in Chesapeake.

Vick was suspended *indefinitely*
from the N-F-L and will likely face
prison time when sentenced in December
for his part in a dogfighting venture
where dogs that didn't perform well
were killed.
