forced the owners to close this boat
ramp.
It's been shut down for a few
days and won't reopen until water
levels rise.
So for Crysta Mitchell it's been
relatively quiet.
She didn't expect a dip in lake
levels to equal a dip in business.

Outer Banks of North Carolina saw
beneficial rains today thanks to
Tropical Storm Gabrielle. Meanwhile,
it was another sunny and hot afternoon
for us with highs in the upper 80s to
lower 90s. As a cold front to our west
draws closer tonight, we'll see some
high cloudiness move into the area. A
stray shower over the Highlands will
also be possible tonight. Lows are
going to be a touch on the muggy side;
near the mid 60s. The front will
continue to cross the area through
Tuesday, providing occasional rain
chances. A cool, moist, onshore flow
(often referred to as cold air damming)
will set up shop late next week. This
will provide cooler and hopefully wet
weather for Thursday and Friday.
Roanoke is now 10" below normal
rainfall for 2007. Highs may fall into
