County are trying to figure out who
they found dead in a pond this evening.

Deputies were called when someone
found the man lying face down in a pond
on Dickerson Mill road in the county.

It looks like he had been there
for a day or two.

A pickup truck and fishing gear
was also found in the area of the pond.

A wallet containing cash was
found in the truck but because of the
condition of the body a positive
identification could not be made.

determine if a man charged with
stealing a Jeep from a Blacksburg
dealership may be connected to Friday's
fatal hit and run in Christiansburg.

Anthony Adams of Floyd was
arrested Friday, although it wasn't
announced until today.

Investigators say the 47 year old
stole a silver Jeep Rubicon from Duncan
Jeep Isuzu.

Friday According to a search warrant
filed last Friday- a similar Jeep with
a lot of damage was spotted at a
Christiansburg gas station.

Investigators believed it was the
vehicle that crashed into a biker early

wreck.

Police say the driver took off.

No one has been charged with the
hit and run.

Developer Blackstock Incorporated
has sold the property to Five Star
Developers.

According to Roanoke city records
the property sold for 2 million

dog, Dixie were out training for bear
season.

White lost sight of the hound,
but eventually tracked her to an area
off of Fringer Trail in Buchanan.

Instead of coming when she was

historical accuracy is forcing the
Confederate Battle Flag out of the
state capitol.

Library of Virginia For decades the flag stood
prominently beside others here in the
Old House Chamber.

But in a recent restoration
effort, historians discovered flags
were NOT an original fixture.

Because of that, the Speaker of
the House has asked ALL flags be taken
out.

Some will be displayed in the new
underground extension, but the battle
flag will NOT since it never flew over
the capitol.

The new exhibit WILL however,
include the second flag of the
Confederate states which DID fly over
the capitol during the Civil War.

college game weren't really impressive

with 44 yards rushing against the

Tigers including a Touchdown. His
passing will need some work, completing

(END SOT) forever known for its running game - is

barely crawling so far this season.

The Hokies have just over a 100 yards
rushing for the entire season -
averaging just 52 a game on the ground.

Perhaps it's the line, maybe its
the fact that Branden Ore was absent
all summer, or maybe the offense just
hasn't gelled.

One player who would like to help
get things rolling is sophomore
tailback Kenny Lewis, Junior.

Lewis took care of business in
the offseason and began the season 20
pounds heavier than he was last season.

Like all Tech fans, he is anxious
for the Stallions to start running wild
again.

KENNY LEWIS

Lewis filled in admirably for Ore

last season, and could provide a good
change up for opposing defenses once
the offense settles down.

The turning point for the former
George Washington high school star came
at this same point in the season a year
ago. After the second week of the 2006
season - Lewis finally lost his track
and baseball mentality and took on a
football persona.
