charges in Halifax County has been
arrested.

in Danville last night.
It happened at around 8:00 at
1473 Myrtle Avenue.
Police say a gunshot went through
the window of the home and hit a
resident in the buttox while she slept
in her bed.
She was transported to the
hospital and is expected to make a full
recovery.
Police do not yet have any
suspects in the case.

Online bankers receive legitimate
emails from time-to-time from their
financial institution.
But even customers who do not
bank over the web are receiving
"phishing" or "spoofing" emails.

works... Scammers send a forged email
claiming to be from a bank.
They ask you to verify your
financial information... such as your
user-ID, passwords, account numbers and
other sensitive data.
Another scam attacking inboxes is
Spoofing.
Again, forged emails ask you to
supply, confirm, or update personal
information... but with spoofing, the
victim clicks on a link in the Email.
That link connects you to a Web
page or login that appears to belong to
the company mentioned in the Email...
but it is actually a site produced by
the scammer.
The goal of the criminals is to
get you to enter your personal data, so
they can steal your information.

dumping garbage out of their truck on
Saturday.

Scam Alert 7 Animation turn up a scam.
Online bankers receive legitimate
emails from time-to-time from their
financial institution.
But even customers who do not
bank over the web are receiving
"phishing" or "spoofing" emails.

VO NAT This is how the phishing scheme
works... Scammers send a forged email
claiming to be from a bank.
They ask you to verify your
financial information... such as your
user-ID, passwords, account numbers and
other sensitive data.
Another scam attacking inboxes is
Spoofing.
Again, forged emails ask you to
supply, confirm, or update personal
information... but with spoofing, the
victim clicks on a link in the Email.
That link connects you to a Web
page or login that appears to belong to
the company mentioned in the Email...
but it is actually a site produced by
the scammer.
The goal of the criminals is to
get you to enter your personal data, so
they can steal your information.

Center.. A cool front from the west
heads our way later today and tomorrow.
The front will creep into the area
providing partly sunny to mostly cloudy
skies and occasional scattered showers
and thunderstorms. Most of this
activity should be along and west of
the Blue Ridge. By the end of the week,
we're looking at a pattern change as
high pressure shifts off the New
England coast. This will usher in
cooler weather and the possibility of a
few showers and storms.
