ESPN/NFL We move to Monster Park in San
Francisco for the second game.

A less than stellar start for the
Cardinals' Matt Leinart.

He's intercepted on the first play
from scrimmage.

That leads to a Frank Gore 6 yard
touchdown run, and it's quickly
7-nothing, 49ers.

But Arizona and Leinart come back.

He fires a five-yard score to Anquan
Bolden, and it's 17-13 Cards in the
fourth quarter.

That leads to wild finish.

With time running down, Alex Smith to
Arnaz Battle, who fumbles at the goal
line.

49ers recover in the end zone, but you
can't advance a fumble in the final two
minutes.

Next play, it's Battle with a 2-yard
end-around.

San Francisco wins 20 to 17.

Frank Beamer has announced that Tyrod
Taylor will be the starting quaterback
when Tech takes on Ohio University this
Saturday at Lane Stadium.

Taylor takes over for Sean
Glennon, who had started the past 15
ballgames for the Hokies.

After this weekend's loss to LSU,
many say that the Hokies might want to
straighten out the backfield behind
Taylor to help out the Freshman
Quarterback.

Mike Stevens has the story.

OQ=...NEWS 7 SPORTS" << The Virginia Tech offense -
(END SOT) forever known for its running game - is

barely crawling so far this season.

The Hokies have just over a 100 yards
rushing for the entire season -
averaging just 52 a game on the ground.

Perhaps it's the line, maybe its
the fact that Branden Ore was absent
all summer, or maybe the offense just
hasn't gelled.

One player who would like to help
get things rolling is sophomore
tailback Kenny Lewis, Junior.

Lewis took care of business in
the offseason and began the season 20
pounds heavier than he was last season.

Like all Tech fans, he is anxious
for the Stallions to start running wild
again.

KENNY LEWIS

Lewis filled in admirably for Ore
last season, and could provide a good
change up for opposing defenses once

the offense settles down.

The turning point for the former
George Washington high school star came
at this same point in the season a year
ago. After the second week of the 2006
season - Lewis finally lost his track
and baseball mentality and took on a
football persona.
