Police say she was killed by
a former boyfriend- who then turned the
gun on himself.

Police say that young boy called
the Sheriff's Department around 6:30
this morning.

Hollow Road in Bedford.

When deputies arrived they found
his mother 43 year-old Sherrie Conner
dead.

They also found 45 year-old Louis
E. O'Brian of Appomattox County with a
gunshot wound to his head.

Paramedics took O'Brian to the
hospital.

He eventually died.

One family member told me O'Brien
and Conner had dated and their
relationship had ened a couple of
months ago.

According to information given to
the family by deputies, O'Brien parked
his car at a nearby church and walked

to Conner's home.

Police say there was a dispute
but they haven't provided details about

what that disagreement.

The family released a statement
through their pastor.

He described Connor as a bright
wonderful person.

He went onto this tragedy has
been very difficult for the family.

who they say assaulted a woman in
Alleghany County earlier this week.

The victim says the man followed
her from Botetourt County all the way
through Covington.

Henry County corruption scandal have
been taken off the federal court
calendar until after former sheriff's
Sergeant Robert Adams is tried.

Adams is the only one of the 20
people indicted last year who hasn't
pled guilty.

If Adams goes to trial as
scheduled next month, Captain James
Keaton and Sergeant James Vaught could
be called to tesitify.

Keaton and Vaught won't be
sentenced until that's over.

case was arrested out of state today.

He's 21 years-old.

jury selection gets underway.

It was a little more than a year ago
that Morva escaped police custody at
Montgomery Regional Hospital. He's
accused of over powering a deputy and
killing hospital security guard Derrick
McFarland. A day later, while still on
the run police say Morva then shot and
killed a sheriff's deputy, Corporal
Eric Sutphin. Morva pleaded not guilty
to the charges and has a prominent
local attorney defending him. Seating
a jury may also be difficult because of
all the publicity this case has
received. But Judge Ray Grubbs says
he's going to try.

60 potential jurors will be here at
the courthouse on Monday and if
necessary another 40 people are on
standby for Tuesday. If a jury can't be
seated, Judge Grubbs still has the

option of moving this trial to another
part of the state.
