Panthers vs. Eagles Jopson Field was packed on the :00 home side as the Panthers rolled into
town hoping to take the Eagles right
down to the wire like they did a year
ago in Ferrum.

But Bridgewater quarterback Jeff
Highfill, the senior from William Byrd
had other plans.

The Eagles score on their opening
drive of the game as another senior -
tailback Philip Carter follows his
blockers on the left side of the line
and wedges his way into the endzone to
make it 7-to-nothing.

Ferrum would struggle mightily on
both sides of the ball - quarterback
Matt Dobson's pitch on the option
doesn't connect with tailback Ronnie
Edwards and Bridgewater's Earl Chaptman
recovers.

And when Bridgewater had the ball
- Highfill was money. He completed

9-of-13 passes for 162 yards and three
touchdowns. In all the senior captain
accounted for 202 yards of total
offense. *CG final Ferrum

16 The Panthers were down 41-to-3
Bridgewater #23 heading to the fourth - and the Eagles

41 beat the Panthers 41-to-16.

Heritage vs. William Fleming The Colonels band was rockin and :00 rolling at halftime, but the home team
trailed 17-14.

Heritage opened the third with a
bang though. A-J Payne hands off to
Korrey Davis and he scoots around the
end on a 23 yard gain and a Pioneers

first down.

On the very next play, Davis
capped the drive with a 4 yard
touchdown run, and it was 24 to 14 in
favor of the Pioneers.

The Heritage 'd' broke into
the scoring column when Deandre Mumford
got picked off by Eric Coleman who
turns in a stout 24 yard return and
just like that it was 31 to 14.

Fleming tried to hang in.
Following a Heritage fumble, LaCalvin
Hickman finds some running room and
gets down to the two yard line for the
Colonels. *CG final Heritage

31 Hickman then did the honors, William Fleming punching in the score, but Heritage 21 hung on to win it 31 to 21.

Pulaski Co. vs. Franklin Co. Jack Turner and Pulaski County :00 were in Rocky Mount tonight to face
Franklin County, as the Cougars tried
to move to 3 and oh.

It was 14-zip Eagles in the 3rd
quarter, when Tyler Brubaker kept the
pigskin over the left side, diving for
the pylon and taking out the zebra in
the process. But it was worth it for
the 6 points and it was 20 to nothing.

But Pulaski stormed back. Seth
Paris takes it in from five yards out
and the Cougs were on the board at 20
to 7.

Shay Dunnigan got Pulaski even
closer on the QB keeper from the one
yard line. *CG final Pulaski Co. The PAT was no good. The Cougars had 27 the lead but faltered down the stretch. Franklin Co. Franklin County won a tight one 28-27.
