That's after a contractor ran

at Northside High School is asbestos.

Now we now that problem is indeed
asbestos.

A contractor doing demolition
work in the library discovered the
problem yesterday.

A school spokesperson would not
say at what point yesterday that
contractor found the problem.

The students at Northside had a
half-day yesterday but that did not
have anything to do with this asbestos
problem.

The school says that was already
planned.

The school says the problem is in
an isolated area.

They have an independent company
running tests throughout the school.

LIVE=Aleesha Full LIVE FULL

They plan to thoroughly clean
Northside.

There is no school on Friday.

There is a football game
scheduled for Northside tomorrow
night....the school is only saying stay
tuned whether that game will go on as
planned.

I also asked whether school could

be cancelled next week and the
spokesperson would only tell us at this
point "its tough to say."

They school will remained closed
until health officials give it the
green light.

On another note also at
Northside...the spokesperson just
announced that a letter is being mailed
home to all parents.

That letter is to tell them that
one of the 9 students tested for
MRSA....has come back positive.

The school says that student is
being treated.

The school is still encouraging
all students to use good hygiene.

DOUBLE BOXES=Kimberly Aleesha (DOUBLE BOXES)

Kim, we expect to have more
information about both of these
developing stories throughout the day.
