A manhunt is underway... and the campus
of Delaware State University is under

a lockdown. Gunshots in the night left
two students wounded one in critical

condition.

Sot: Carlos Holmes/Delaware State
Spokesman (07:54:32)

The female s injuries or the wound is
more serious and I could say they could

potentially be life threatening.

(aerial)

While police in Dover scour the campus
and examine surveillance video,

students have been instructed to stay
in their dormitory rooms. Commuters
were

told to stay home.

(night video)

Overnight, university officials say
students and staff were warned of the

shooting with a message on the campus
website, phone calls and notifications

in the dorms. Last year, Virginia Tech
administrators were severely

criticized for not quickly alerting
students about a shooter who killed 32

people in Blacksburg.

Delaware officials believe the shooter
left campus, but they don t know that

for certain.

Sot: Homes again (08:00:30)

We have learned from Virginia Tech.
We need to err on the side of caution

and do the best we can to protect our
student population.

(August 28, 2007)

And all this comesjust a month after
the Delaware State community mourned
the

loss of three students.shot execution

Few details of this latest incident
have been released. There s no word

whether they just happened to be in

OQ= With the slice of a ribbon, what

was once an automobile showroom, and
more recently a cabinet shop, offered
up Roanoke's latest example of downtown
living.

And visitors who climbed the

stairs to check out the model units
found a striking contrast between 1920s
architecture, and modern furnishings.

INQ= I LIKE THE NEW AND THE OLD. I LIKE THE

FACT THE BUILDING HAS HISTORY, BUT HAS
THE MODERN CONVENIENCES.

THEY LOOK JUST LIKE PLACES UP IN D.C.
LIKE COMING TO LIVE IN ROANOKE WOULD BE
A GOOD CHANGE.

RUNS= (END SOT)

OQ= Richmond developer Bill Chapman

says he was first drawn to the area by
the invesntory of old buildings and the
availability of tax credits in
Roanoke's new "Automotive Commerical
Historic District."

But he says projects like the new
Art Museum persuaded him that the time
was right to invest in downtown
Roanoke.

He believes prospective buyers
will agree.

INQ= EVERYONE THAT I'VE TALKED WITH THAT HAS

WANTED TO MOVE DOWNTOWN, BUT HASN'T,
HAS STATED THAT PRICING HAS BEEN THE

BIGGEST ISSUE.AND WE'RE PRICED BETWEEN
160 AND 239- THOUSAND DOLLARS, AND
THAT'S A GREAT DEAL TO MOVE DOWNTOWN.
WHEN YOU ADD IN THE FINISHES AND THE
STYLE OF THE UNIT, I THINK WE HAVE A
ONE OF A KIND PROPERTY.

RUNS= (END SOT)

OQ= That one of kind property should

be completed by the end of December,
with the building's new occupants
moving in after the first of next year.

Steve "Chicken" Morris was sent back
home to Marion on the show last night,
bcoming the first person to be voted
off this season.

At 47 years old, Chicken was the
oldest member of the cast.

He became frustrated early on, when
tribemates wouldn't listen to his
advice about building a shelter.

After that, he had little to say, and

that apparently gave his team the
motivation to vote him off.

Still, Chicken says he's proud to be
a small part of a big adventure.
