Fans say they're disappointed by the

Covington High School...to REMEMBER a
student killed earlier this week in a
car crash..

Almost 200 people showed up for a
candlelight vigil for Robert Smith
outside the high school.
There was a lot of LOVE and
LAUGHTER and TEARS, as they read poems,
played music, and remembered Smith as a
funny guy who loved cars and playing
the guitar.
Some of his friends even wrote a
song about him.
The 16 year old was riding in the
back seat of a car...when the driver
lost control on Interstate 64 near...
Mallow Mall... on Wednesday.
Everyone in the car was a
student Covington high school.

Police say Barker was driving and

A truck slammed into her car.
Investigators say the two were
killed instantly.

inspecting the building for "asbestos"
says its SAFE to reenter.
The school's been closed since
"Wednesday afternoon" when a
construction worker discovered asbestos
in the library.
Tests show there is NO RISK that
students or staff were EXPOSED to
asbestos.
There will be a meeting for
students and parents Sunday at 4
o'clock at Northside Middle School
auditorium.
It will be a chance to get

concern at Northside -- there's also a
confirmed case of MRSA among the
football players.
Campbell County is also dealing
with cases of this staph infection..
Although most cases do not result in
serious long- term health problems,
extreme cases of MRSA can be
unimaginable.

up with a survivor of one of those

morning hours at Delaware State
University... has left two students
injured.
A male is expected to recover,
the female victim is critically
wounded.
The campus was immediately shut
down, school officials said they
learned from the tragedy at Virginia
Tech.

grant for more than 960-thousand
dollars.
The University will use the money to
help students and staff who may be
dealing with mental health issues. The
money will go towards improved the
coordination of mental health services
on campus.

shootings.
