Center. As a weak backdoor cool front
slips into North Carolina, our skies
will become mostly clear Sunday night
into Monday morning. Some patchy river
valley fog may develop in some
hometowns. Low temperatures will be
comfortable and a touch cooler tonight
in the mid 50s. The forecast remains
simple the next few days as high
pressure filters into the area. A large
ridge of warmth will keep the eastern
United States above average in the
temperature department. Our next
opportunity to get some much needed
rain won't arrive until Thursday. This
will likely come later in the day and
won't have a lot of support, so right
now we'll keep rain chances at 30% and
most of that will likely be in the
mountains west of the Roanoke Valley.
Dry times continue. Have a great week!
As leaves begin to fall the next few
weeks our wildfire threat will
increase, especially if we don't get
rain. As low level fuels dry, be
careful with open flames!
