Kentucky that could affect Virginia.

Roanoke was 93 which was a record and
the low was 62. Tropical storm Karen
was named today, forming from a
tropical depression in the eastern
Atlantic. While large and powerful,
Karen offers little hope for getting
rain into the parched southeast and
mid-Atlantic. The current track has
Karen making a U-turn back out to sea
over the next 5 days. Here in the
states, high pressure will weaken
across New York and move out to sea.
The return flow around this high will
push dew points up, leading to a mild
night and also keep our high
temperatures above normal Wednesday.
Can't rule out a slight shower chance
to the west of the Roanoke Valley on
Wednesday. Our next chance of any rain
arrives Thursday with a front coming in
from the west. It appears the bulk of
the rain will move into the Ohio valley
and the Great Lakes, with only slight
shower chances here through early

Double "A" Ranks of Volleyball in the
state Recently has been the Cave Spring
Knights, so suffice to say that they
have done very well in their own
district. Tonight they were on the Road
taking on Cross County Rival Hidden
Valley.

for there volleyball team.
This one a close match in the
first set, Cave Springs Meredith Walker
with the Spike from the Right Side, the
Titans get some arms on it and almost
take out the cameraman for the point.
Hidden Valley though would pick

Freshman Elizabeth Burke put up the big
block to earn a Titan score.
The Titans held tough through the
nite and for the first time in the
schools history they were able to knock
off Cave Spring 3 sets to 2.

District Playing their Golf Tournament
at Draper Valley. This afternoon it
was the Three Rivers district and they
too just like the River Ridge had a
defending State Champion in the
tournament.
And Floyd County had no problems
as they begin a quest for a second
straight Group "A" State Title, The
Buffalos took home the District Tourney
Title by 16 strokes over Radford.
Floyd's Michael Wade took home
Medalist Honors with a 69. Radford was
second and will advance to the
Regionals along with the Buffalos.
Giles was Third.
