the first four series.
There are always local ties to
the big time and that is again ths case
this postseason.
Phillies manager Charlie Manuel
was born in Fries, grew up in Buena
Vista and graduated from Parry McCluer
high school. He'll now try to take
down the Rockies much like he used to
battle old Lexington high.
Manuel doesn't think the redhot
Rockies are much different than his own
club.

That's because someone had been
stealing them for about a year. Now
police think they know who it was.
They were serving an unrelated
warrant on Thomas Gannon when they
discovered parking meters stashed all
over his home.
In all they found more than 140 meters
stuffed beneath blankets, under beds
and behind doors.
All the money was taken from the
meters. The meters alone are worth
about 100 thousand dollars. According
to police Gannon has a long arrest
record.
