last night.

It broke out around 8:30 at a home off
of Little Timber Ridge.

When firefigthers arrived, the house
was engulfed in flames.

In fact, we understand flames could
be seen for nearly a mile.

The fire is now out and crews cleared
the scene at around 4 o-clock this
morning.

Authorities say no one was injured in
the fire.

Yesterday, the former DEA Agent
took the stand, and showed a Roanoke
jury what led up to a fatal shooting in
a restaurant parking lot five years
ago.

after the recording industry sued her.

This was the first of more than

Ridge.

When firefigthers arrived, the house
was engulfed in flames.

In fact, we understand the

Authorities say no one was injured in
the fire.

Junior to move his dog breeding
business to Giles County.

Schmucker (SCHMOOU-KER) asked for
a special exception to build a new

kennel on 61 acres he owns in the White
Gate community.

Last month, the Giles County
planning commission recommended the
board deny his request.

This past March, one of
Schmucker's (SCHMOOU-KER) Dogwood
Kennels burned in Bland County.

He lost about 200 dogs in the

in Glenn Lyn.

He says the project is absolutely
safe and would create new jobs.

But others argue the project will
harm animals, the environment and even
people.

The project has been cleared by
all the necessary federal and state
agencies.

Yesterday, Spencer announced he
will hold a public meeting to talk
about safety issues.

A fedearl jury has ordered her to pay
a group of music companies more than
200- thousand dollars for downloading
and sharing music online.

The industry's lawsuit against her
is the first against an individual
downloader to go to trial.

Buying a song online nowadays cost
about a dollar.....but Jammie Thomas
will

have to fork over more than 92-HUNDRED
dollars EACH for 24 songs. That's how

much a federal jury decided the
30-year-old Minnesota mother will pay

for

illegally downloading music after being
sued by the Recording Industry.

YOU STEAL MUSIC, WHEN YOU BREAK THE
LAW, YOU CAN BE CAUGHT, AND THERE CAN

This was the first of more than
25-THOUSAND lawsuits to go to trial.
Other

defendents had settled by paying the
companies a few thousand dollars, but

Thomas wanted to take them on.

UPLOAD ANY MUSIC. PERIOD"

But the jury sided with the record
companies and decided the downloading

amounted to theft. For Jammie Thomas
it'll amount to 222-thousand-dollars.

It's a major triumph for the struggling
music industry. C-D sales are off

19-percent this year, and the R-I-A-A
claims it's lost more than

3-BILLION-dollars to illegal music
sharing. They say they don't want to
be in

court but have little choice.

Despite the industry's legal onslaught,
most see it as a losing battle.

They've shut down some of the world's
biggest file-sharing operations, only

to see others take their place.

verdict will do little to stem the tide
