a Friday Football Extra game tonight.
Grayson County's matchup with Galax
moved back three days when a Galax
player was diagnosed today with MRSA.
It's the drug-resistant staph infection
that's making its way around lots of
high schools this fall.

tonight in Independence.
But it's been rescheduled to
Monday Night at 7:30.
The schools canceled the game
because all of the Galax team's
equipment and gear needs to be
sanitized.
The school district didn't think

A Grand Jury today indicted Ricky Hall
of Clifton Forge with writing two
checks for personal use. Sheriff Dale

neighborhood this morning. Police say a
Roanoke man, Durwin Bonds, was firing
at them.

It all started around 1 o'clock
when someone at a home on Wentworth
Avenue called to say it was being
burglarized.
Officers say Bonds shot at one of
the people at the home.
When police arrived, they told
him to drop his weapon.
Instead, they say he fired at the
two officers.
No one was hurt.
They've charged Bonds with
attempted malicious wounding of a
police officer.
Both officers are on desk duty
while the department investigates.

child earlier this week.

died at this house on McCorkle Lane.
Police say the child was left
unattended for a short amount of time
by the mother....Tonya Bane.
The mother tried C-P-R to revive

A police officer in Lynchburg won't
face a criminal charge for lying to the
public while Randolph College was
moving valuable art from its museum
earlier this month.

provide security while the college
moved four paintings to be auctioned
off in New York.
When onlookers asked what was
going on, one officer told them there'd

today he won't press any criminal
charges, because there was no
"malicious intent" to the ruse.

high pressure system will slide east
over the weekend and provide a fairly
pleasant forecast with moderating

western mountains. Everyone will turn

Little Sorrel belonged to
Stonewall Jackson.
The horse died in 1886, but his

United Daughters of the Confederacy
raised about 16-thousand dollars for
the restoration.
