About 25 parents and students
protested outside of Narrows High

They were concerned about how the
school was being cleaned after two
students came down with MRSA.

Giles County's Superintendent
eventually met with the parents, saying
he understands why so many people are
worried about this infection. But that
he's been in constant contact with the
health department and that the schools

have been cleaned.

Two bomb blasts shattered the
celebration of Benazir Bhutto's return
to

Pakistan. More than 125 people were
killed. hundreds were injured.

The explosions went off as her convoy
was driving through Karachi. The
windows

of her truck shattered. At the moment
of the attack - the former Prime

Minister had gone inside the truck to
rest... she is said to be 'safe' and

unharmed.

Thousands of security forces surrounded
her throughout the day and urged her

to use a helicopter to get around, but
she brushed off concerns saying =quote=

'I am not scared.'

It was a far cry from the earlier
homecoming celebration.. the two time

Premier and opposition leader returned
from an eight year self-imposed exile.

She fled the country amid party
corruption charges - but has since been

granted amnesty.

(sot: Benazir Bhutto / Former Pakistan

I dreamt of this day for so many months
and years

150-thousand supporters packed the city
to witness her return... As she

launched a political comeback that
could team Bhutto with Pakistan's US
backed

military president, Pervez Musharraf.

But the 54-year old leader of the
Pakistan People's Party has two big

challenges: Musharraf's hold on power
is tentative and Islamic radicals hate

her for her support of the U-S-led war
on terrorism.

With parliamentary elections due in
January, Bhutto hopes to campaign for a

record third premiership. But many fear
the same corruption scandals that

toppled her previous administrations
may cripple the party's chance at

victory.

(oncam)

And as these bombings show her biggest
challenge may be staying alive long

enough to see election day.

From the Pacific Northwest to the

Florida panhandle, deadly weather
systems

popped up in waves that whalloped the
country from coast to coast.

Storms raked the Plains and Southeast
yesterday and tossed a mobile home in

Missouri, killing a couple inside as
they hid inside. Debris from the

trailer was found as far as two miles
away. Neighbors pitched in to clean up

and mourn the couple who'd been dating
for about a year.

(nat) "CALM DOWN, CALM DOWN!"

The same system spawned a tornado in
Florida that turned houses to rubble,

snapped off a church steeple, and sent
mall shoppers and children at a day

care center running for cover.

(SOT MOS): "IT JUST SHOOK THE HOUSE.

NEXT THING YOU KNOW, THE HOUSE WAS OFF.

BY THE GRACE OF GOD, WE ALL WALKED OUT
OF IT."

The line pushed as far north as

Michigan where authorities confirmed
one dead

after severe weather ripped through the
region - yanking trees from the

ground, flipping over cars, and tearing
holes in people's homes. One resident

said it looked like a war zone.

To the west, heavy winds and rain
lashed coastal Washington in the
season's

first big storm.

(SOT ERIC WEICKSON/HOMEOWNER 012340):

"HALF OF THAT TREE IS LAYING RIGHT
THERE

- IT JUST CAME DOWN."

The Ericksons lost a tree but not much
else. At the height of the storm, more

than 220-thousand people lost their
power but there are no reports of major

injuries.

The severe weather is expected to land
in the Northeast today, where

authorities say the storms will be dark
and wet....but not deadly.

The kitchen at St. John's Episcopal
Church was busy last night as
volunteers scooped out the spaghetti
into to go boxes and the volunteer
chefs tended to their spaghetti
sauce...which p.s. they started cooking
around noon....

As you can imagine preparing to
serve 500 people takes a little bit of
time......and it's a good thing there
was a lot of food ready because only an
hour in, there was a line for
take-out....

WX BUG (WX BUG)

TITAN << Good morning, I'm Meteorologist Leo WX PRO Hirsbrunner in the SkyTracker7 Forecast
Center. We're now in what we call the LEO TOSS STRAIGHT TO COMMERCIAL "warm sector" with a warm front to the
north of the area and a cool front to COMM our west. Highs today are expected to
climb into the mid 70s the cool front
crosses the area - in a hurry! Friday
will start with variably cloudy skies,
but as the front to our west runs into
our warm and somewhat unstable air,
showers and thunderstorms will develop.
The best chance to see rain will be in
the early afternoon through the
evening. Most areas will only see
around 0.25"-0.50" of rain, although
any thunderstorm could produce higher
amounts. Some storms may be on the
strong side, especially in the
Piedmont. Friday Football Extra games
should get underway around 7:00p.m.
with mostly cloudy skies. Most of the

rain by that point will hopefully be to
our east. Temperatures will be cooler
Friday night in the mid 50s. Sunshine
returns for the weekend with highs in
the 70s. FRIDAY: Warm with showers and
storms. High: 76.Get the latest weather
forecast and radar imagery anytime on
