About 25 parents and students
protested outside of Narrows High

They were concerned about how the
school was being cleaned after two
students came down with MRSA.

Giles County's Superintendent
eventually met with the parents and
says he understands why so many people
are worried about this infection.

He says he's been in constant

that the schools have been cleaned.

At Staunton River High School,
the attendance is usually around 95
percent.

Today there was a slight drop
.... with 88 percent of students going
back to the classroom.

Other schools in the county also
saw a small dip in student attendance.

The reason.....some kids told us
they just weren't comfortable going
back yet.

They believe the schools needed
more cleaning.

The district says buildings have
been thoroughly sanitized and that
students have to do their part.

LEO IN CHROMAKEY

WEATHER BUG

<< Good morning, I'm Meteorologist Leo
Hirsbrunner in the SkyTracker7 Forecast
Center. We're now in what we call the
"warm sector" with a warm front to the
north of the area and a cool front to
our west. Highs today are expected to
climb into the mid 70s the cool front
crosses the area - in a hurry! Friday
will start with variably cloudy skies,
but as the front to our west runs into
our warm and somewhat unstable air,
showers and thunderstorms will develop.
The best chance to see rain will be in
the early afternoon through the

evening. Most areas will only see
around 0.25"-0.50" of rain, although
any thunderstorm could produce higher
amounts. Some storms may be on the
strong side, especially in the
Piedmont. Friday Football Extra games
should get underway around 7:00p.m.
with mostly cloudy skies. Most of the
rain by that point will hopefully be to
our east. Temperatures will be cooler
Friday night in the mid 50s. Sunshine
returns for the weekend with highs in
the 70s. FRIDAY: Warm with showers and
storms. High: 76.Get the latest weather
