SHOOTING... of a "sherrif's" deputy in
Tazewell County.
U.S. MARSHALLS were called in
last night to help with the SEARCH for
"three" suspects.
And we now know... a
"forth" person is also involved.

Linda Carol Brewster... she is the
"mother" of the suspect... Scotty Lee
Stinson.... Police were also searching
for her last night but say she has now
been LOCATED. She is not a SUSPECT but
a "person of interest". Police believe
she may have IMPORTANT information.

VO-NAT The incident all unfolded
yesterday when... Deputy Eric
Mullins... was SHOT after pulling over
a car.
Inside the vehicle were TWO
people suspected of robbing TWO
convenience stores "earlier" in the
day...
Police went on a manhunt...
prompting SEVEN schools including
Bluefield College... to go into
lockdown mode.
Warrants for "two of the three"
suspects... Stinson and Roxie Amanda
Short... have been issued for ATTEMPTED
MURDER. Police are still working on
identifying the third.
Deputy Mullins was shot in the
stomach.... but a bulletproof vest
stopped the bullet from penetrating.
He's now recovering at home, said to be
doing WELL.

get the fire under control.

game at Pulaski County High school.

Friday morning.
Police were called in right way.
Authorities set up a perimeter...
and searched the school... room by
room. They even checked students' book
bags.

were picking up their kids.

dealing with security.
Fans had their bags searched before
they entered the stadium and there were
more sheriff's deputies than normal at

this summer.
They didn't find any serious
problems.

Tonight will be much cooler as lows
fall to the low and mid 40s. Wind will
be light and variable. Sunday calls
for more sunshine and lighter wind.
Wind will turn from the south Sunday
around 10 mph. This will help kick in
some much warmer temperatures. Highs
tomorrow (Sunday) are forecast around
the lower 80s! This will be warm
enough to tie and break some records
across the region it looks like. The
extended forecast calls for mostly
sunny skies Monday and partly sunny
conditions Tuesday. Unsettled weather
returns Wednesday through Friday as a

FBI agents raided David Copperfield s
Las Vegas warehouse.. but so far they
re not saying why..
The FBI will only confirm that the
search.. conducted by 12 agents from
the Seattle office.. is related to an
investigation in Seattle.
Copperfield stores magic tricks and
memorabilia from around the world at
the warehouse.
CBS affiliate KLAS reports agents took
a computer hard drive.. a memory chip
from a digital camera system.. and
nearly two million dollars in cash from
a safe.
The FBI also made a stop at the MGM
Grand.. where the 51-year-old magician
performs several times a year.

Copperfield s Las Vegas attorney
released a statement saying: "We
understand there is an investigation,
are in touch with the investigators,
and are respecting the confidentiality
of the investigation."
There are several reports indicating
the investigation stems from a police
report filed by a Seattle woman over
the summer.. making accusations against
Copperfield after an alleged incident
in the Bahamas. Seattle police do not
have jurisdiction and they referred the
matter to the FBI.
Copperfield begins a run of shows next
week in Indonesia.. and brings his
magic back to the MGM Grand next month.
Right now the FBI is not revealing what
if anything they may have against the

yesterday, caused severe weather in
other parts of the country earlier in
the week.

Michigan communities were
cleaning up Friday from storms and
tornadoes that crossed the state on
Thursday.
Tornadoes touched down in
Williamston near Lansing and in several
other Michigan communities.
Three people died.
Power may not return to some
communities until later today.
It is unusual to have tornadoes
in Michigan in October... but it is not
unheard of.

Severe weather hit Florida's
Panhandle Thursday as Mother Nature
displayed her destructive powers.
An Escambia County Sheriffs
Deputy was on patrol and had his dash
camera rolling when he came upon a
tornado as it started to form.

people were without power.
No injuries were reported with
the severe weather.

The state's first Internet task
force was created nine years ago in

predators on-line and tackle the
problem of child pornography.
