ABC Sports/NASCAR The Martinsville Speedway was :00 given an absolutely picture perfect day
to help close out the celebration for
this its 60th anniversary season.

Jeff Gordon - one of the all-time
Martinsivlle Masters started on the
pole position and did absolutely
nothing early on to damage his spot at
the top of the points race. Gordon led
the first 108 laps of the race in the
DuPont Chevy easily negotiatiing the
lapped traffic he had to work through.

As always the tight paper clip
shaped track produced plenty of
cautions. The yellow waved a record 21
times - Robby Gordon was one of a
handful of drivers who cut down a front
tire and had no other choice but to
head straight into the outside wall.

Dale Junior complained about an
ill-handling car all day long and took
some of his frustrations out on Juan
Pablo Montoya - nudging him out of the
way at the midway point of the race,
but Junior was in contention to win
late.

But the cautions just kept coming
and as usual it came down to the
Hendrick Motorsports cars racing for
the win.

Jimmie Johnson would sweep both
Martinsville races as he holds off Ryan
Newman, Kyle Busch and Gordon in a wild
green, white, checkered, yellow finish.
