died Monday. His family says he
contracted the "potentially" DEADLY...
staph infection.

His death prompted Bedford County
educators... to cancel classes on
Wednesday... so all "22" of the
county's schools... could be cleaned.

came to know Ashton as a good kid who

In the week leading up to his
death, the teen spent time listening to
his grandmother read him passages from
the Bible and made the decision to
commit his life to God.

Just as he was getting ready to
embark on his future, it all came to a
sudden end after what is believed to be
a battle with MRSA.

His former English teacher tells
us she enjoyed having him in class and
says he was excited about graduating.

Promised Land Baptist Church for a
celebration of his life.

A life that is now sorely missed

The store says Ashton's death...

again...on an athletic "facility" at
Hidden Valley high school.

You may remember, earlier
this month the building COLLAPSED...
injuring several workers and putting a
halt to the project.

field trip last Sunday with... "Hope
Tree Family Services" .... when he ran
away.

Garrett is 5-feet-6 inches tall...
140 pounds... with brown eyes and brown
hair. He has crew-cut hair style.

He was last seen wearing
light-colored camouflage pants and a
gray shirt.

Authorities say Garrett is required
to take medication which he does 'NOT'
have with him.

They're looking to see if the genes
have the same properties in humans.

A new house bill is urging health
agencies to expand research into
post-partum depression.

80-percent of new mothers experience
the so-called "baby blues."

The bill, which now goes to the Senate,
authorizes 3-million-dollars in
spending.

"third" person in the

shooting of a sheriff's deputy in
Tazewell County.

Wallace Kinder Junior...
now faces a charge of attempted
"capital" murder of a law enforcement
officer.

All three suspects are still
on the loose.

all are charged with attempted
"capital" murder.

Police believe the three
may be traveling in the Gastonia, North
Carolina area.

hour...can REDUCE energy use on a

Our next storm system is taking shape
across the western United States. This
will bring us an extended period of
shower chances for the upcoming week.
Most of us will stay dry through
Monday, but by Monday night and Tuesday
low pressure will be cut off from the
main steering currents around the lower
Mississippi River Valley. This low,
with a front in our neighborhood, will
bring clouds and occasional showers
Tuesday through Friday morning.
Temperatures will range from the 60s to
70s during this time. We should dry out
throughout the day on Friday. Next
weekend is looking mostly sunny with
highs in the low to mid 60s.

leap yesterday ... from one of the
TALLEST bridges in the country.

It all took place in Fayetteville,
West Virginia ... part of the annual
Bridge Day Festival.

It's the only day of the
year...where base jumpers can leap off
the New River Gorge bridge ... that's
almost a "900-foot drop."

The "base" in base jumping stands
for... building....
antenna...span...and earth. Those are
the four types of fixed objects used
for "foot-launched"... skydiving.

About a "hundred-thousand" people
came out to enjoy the show.
