August In August - a jury found Bob
Shell guilty of involuntary
manslaughter, along with 7 other drug
and sex crimes.


The convictions stem from the
death of a 19-year-old model, Marion
Franklin, in June of 2003.


She died from a morphine overdose
in Shell's studio, after a photo shoot.


A judge will decide later this
morning whether or not to upheld the
jury's sentence of 32 and a half years
in prison.

Lynchburg is nearly ready to open again


to the public.

attraction..Mill Mountain Zoo is
offering visitors a chance to see Ruby
the Tiger again.

Yesterday, the Zoo unveiled a
sculpture of her.


It's 8 feet long and about 250
pounds.


The zoo created it because she
meant so much to the community and they
wanted to recognize her.


Ruby died last December after
spending 18 years as a member of the

Grabowski have been found in Tennessee.


He is the 35 year old Cave Spring
and Roanoke College Grad who was last
seen Mother's Day 2005.

Sheriff's Office, not far from Bristol
Tennessee... said the remains were
found in the woods almost a year ago--
but it wasn't until yesterday that
authorities identified the remains as
Grabowski


The Sheriff says a handgun was found
near Grabowski's body- and they say
there' s a good possibility there was
foul play.


Investigators continue searching for
Grabowski's black 1977 Ford pickup that
has still not been found.

the accident earlier this month.


They were flying from Georgia
into the Twin County Airport to see
family.


According to the preliminarily
report from the National Transportation
Safety Board - the pilot Richard Yoder
was trying to land the plane - when a


strong crosswind made him lose control.


FAA inspectors said the plane
came to rest nose down in heavy brush.


One of the wings was sheared off

for fraud.

April Robert Gluhareff entered into a
plea agreement last Spring, admitting
he defrauded parents and the
government, for declaring tuition
checks: charitable contributions.


His lawyer says Gluhareff charged
hundreds of thousands of dollars to his


personal credit cards to keep
WellSpring afloat.


The judge yesterday concluded the
fraud was not a temporary lapse of
judgment and ordered Gluhareff to pay
more than 500-thousand dollars in
restitution.

Corrigan said we'll need a good
snowfall this winter to help with the
drought.


He said we could be up to normal
water levels as early as springtime.

<< A FLOOD WATCH has been issued
through this evening. A pipeline
straight from the tropics is providing
the rainfall over the next 24hours.
Look for periods of rain, some moderate
to heavy, with cool temperature through


the remainder of the workweek. A
cut-off low and front will begin to
push out the rain during the day. An
additional 1 to 3 inches of rain is
possible from now through early
Saturday. This may cause some streams
to reach bankfull, and produce ponding
of water along roads. Use extra caution
when driving at night.We'll still
contend with some cloudiness during
Saturday afternoon, but Sunday should
deliver more sunshine as a ridge of
high pressure builds in once again.
This pattern should stick around
through at least Halloween Wednesday.
