Before you head out today, there's a
Traffic Alert to tell you about.
Authorities in Roanoke County say
three vehicles are involved in an
accident on Route 460...about quarter
of a mile west of Dixie Caverns.
Police say around 6:30, a female
driver lost control of her vehicle,
slid off the road, hit an embankment
and flipped over. She was taken to the
hospital.
Her injuries are said to be not
life-threatening.
Another fender bender occurred as
traffic slowed down to avoid the
accident.
There were no major injuries in that
incident.
One lane of westbound traffic is
open...but authorities say drivers
should expect delays.

(D) State Senate Candidate
(R) State Senate Candidate SEN. ROSCOE REYNOLDS/(D) STATE SENATE
:44 CANDIDATE; VERY LITTLE CAN BE DONE IN
VIRGINIA TO EFFECTIVELY STEM ILLEGAL

CAN BE TAKEN, BUT THE BIG ISSUE IS THE
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DOING ITS JOB TO
KEEP OUR BORDER SECURE. UNLESS THE
BORDERS ARE KEPT SECURE WHAT WE'RE
DOING WHEN WE'RE DEALING WITH AN
ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT, WHEN HE GETS OUTSIDE
THE BORDERS OF THE UNITED STATES HE CAN
COME RIGHT BACK IN. YOU CAN
INCARCERATE THEM. YOU CAN TAKE OTHER
STEPS AGAINST THEM. BUT BASICALLY WHAT
YOU'RE DOING IS ADDING TO THE COSTS OF
THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND THE STATE
GOVERNMENT BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE OF
THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO DO ITS JOB.
JEFF EVANS/(R) STATE SENATE CANDIDATE;
FIRST OF ALL WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO
DEMAND, I DON'T BELIEVE ASK I THINK
IT'S GONE PAST THAT, DEMAND OUR
GOVERNOR TO SIGN A MEMORANDUM OR LETTER
AGREEMENT WITH ICE TO MAKE IT POSSIBLE
FOR OUR STATE AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT
TO ENFORCE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. AND AS
A RETIRED TROOPER, WHO SAYS THEY DON'T
HAVE TIME, THEY DO HAVE TIME. THEY
WANT TO TAKE THE TIME TO DETAIN, TO
MAKE AN ARREST AND SEE THESE ILLEGAL
ALIENS MOVING OUT OF OUR STATE. THEN
WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO STOP MAKING IT
AVAILABLE TO THEM TO COME HERE AND
INVITING THEM HERE BY THINGS SUCH AS
OUR PRESENT SENATOR SAYING THAT BOND
SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE POSTED FOR AN
ILLEGAL ALIEN. THAT'S RIDICULOUS. AND
ALSO THE IN-STATE TUITION THAT HE VOTED
FOR, I WOULD NOT VOTE FOR. I BELIEVE WE
HAVE TO MAKE IT UNINVITING TO COME
ACROSS THAT STATE LINE FROM WHEREVER.
I REALIZE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S
NEEDS TO DO ITS JOB AND STOP THEM AT
THE BORDER. BUT WE'VE TO GOT TO TAKE
CARE OF VIRGINIA.
