see good cooling, leading to chilly
overnight lows. The growing season has
ended for most areas this week. The
exception is Halifax and South Boston,
where a Frost Advisory has been issued
for late tonight and early Wednesday.
Since the air is dry, temperatures will
quickly shoot into the 60s and low 70s

will enjoy a dry forecast Wednesday
night. While cool, temperatures won't
drop quite as much as the past several
nights. A cold front will approach the
area from the west on Thursday,
bringing a few clouds to the region.
Some light sprinkles are possible along
the western slopes. Another front will
try to approach over the weekend, with
little success. The air is just too dry
and high pressure too strong to make
any drastic changes to the overall
pattern. TUESDAY NIGHT: Clear and

18 others. Adams is the first to go to

Adams' lawyer says the
government's main witness tried to
bribe Adams.

During opening statements Defense
Attorney Terry Grimes peeled off ten
100-dollar bills. He left the the cash
on the rail in front of the jury.

While questioning the first
witness, Prosecutor Tom Bondurant
picked up the $1,000, walked over to
the defense table and threw it at
Grimes.

Jean:

He THREW it at him?

Keith:

He did not hand him the money.
He tossed the bills in Grimes'
direction, and they fluttered to the
table top.

jjadhon@wdbj7.com With one week to election day,
News-7 is focusing on key races across
the viewing area by getting the answers
to your questions.

Today we're talking to the
Democrat and Independent running for
the House of Delegates in the 10th
District.

CHANNEL=C VO-NAT

VO-NAT Onzlee Ware is a Roanoke lawyer

who was elected to the House in 2003.
He's the first African-American
Delegate west of Charlottesville.

The man trying to unseat Ware
is a former professional baseball
player and umpire who served __ years
on Roanoke City Council. Mac McCadden
planned to challenge Ware for the
Democratic nomination, but did NOT get
on the primary ballot because of a
paperwork problem. He's now running as
an Independent.

Brooke Van Cleave wanted to
ask all the House and Senate cadidates
if they would introduce a bill to
eliminate personal property taxes for

disabled veterans.

Here are their answers:

< CANDIDATE; I'D LOVE TO BE ABLE TO
INTRODUCE THAT BILL. AS A VETERAN, I
UNDERSTAND THAT PEOPLE GO OVER AND THEY
GIVE SOMETIMES THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE
FOR US. BUT THOSE WHO GO OVER THERE
AND COME BACK AND THEY'RE DISABLED AS A
RESULT OF THAT, I THINK, DESERVE TO
HAVE THOSE WAIVED AND I WOULD INTRODUCE
THAT BILL.

DEL. ONZLEE WARE/(D) HOUSE OF DELEGATES
CANDIDATE; I WOULD LOVE TO INTRODUCE
THAT. WHAT POLITICIAN WOULDN'T WANT
TO PROMISE THEY COULD DO THAT. BUT THE
PROBLEM IS ONCE YOU GIVE THE EXEMPTION,
HOW ARE YOU GOING TO SUPPLEMENT THE
LOST REVENUE? RIGHT NOW WITH JUST THAT
STATEMENT ALONE, I WOULD HAVE TO DO
FURTHER RESEARCH TO SEE WHAT KIND OF
IMPACT IT WOULD HAVE ON THE GENERAL
BUDGET BECAUSE IF YOU GIVE THE
EXEMPTION, YOU MAY HAVE TO TAKE MONEY
FROM EDUCATION AND I WOULD NEVER ALLOW
THAT SO THE ANSWER IS I WOULD HAVE TO
STUDY IT FURTHER.
