93-dollars a barrel- those high costs
are already trickling down to

This year the price is 70-cents

The town of Amherst yesterday
lifted the mandatory conservation order
put in place four weeks ago ...
officials say the Buffalo River is back
to its normal levels.
And the city of Lynchburg is back
to drawing 100 percent of its daily
water from the Pedlar Reservoir in
Amherst County.
The reservoir has risen more than
four feet since last week.
That means Lynchburg is no longer
relying on the James River for any of
its water needs.

The level of Carvins Cove has
risen by almost a foot since last week.
It's now about 68 percent full.

than three feet, listed at 73 percent
of capacity.
The reservoirs are only slightly
below their averages for this time of
year, but officials with the Western
Virginia Water Authority say it will
take a lot more rain to fill them up.

GRAPHIC=None A convenience store clerk was robbed
at knifepoint last night in Alleghany
county.
It happened around 11- 30 at the Fast
Break B-P Station and Convenience Store
in Cliftondale park.
The sheriff's department says a man
wearing a mask threatened the clerk
with a knife, then told her to open the
register.
He took some money and then fled, but
authorities managed to nab him an hour
and a half later at his home.

22- year- old Ernest Lee Wright, Junior
of Clifton Forge is charged with armed
robbery.
He's in custody at the Alleghany
Regional Jail.

about the controversial plan to expand
a children's health insurance program.

Community Health Center yesterday

Officials told Webb the center
saw three thousand patients in 2006.
And about 60 percent were uninsured.
