VO-NAT You may remember Fairview had to be

shut down at the beginning of the
school year because of a massive rat
infestation.

Since then, students have been bussed
across town to Preston Park Elementary,
where they're being housed in trailers.

As News 7's Justin McLeod discovered,
it could be another two months before
Fairview re-opens.

It was a practice bomb -- no
explosives. But the navy is scrambling

to find out how it happened.

The 10-pound bomb hit a wall
outside a warehouse as the aircraft
approached the Oceana Naval Air Station
yesterday. No one was hurt.

It was an inert bomb that emits
smoke upon impact. Still, a navy board
is investigating -- and will determine
whether the pilot should face any
disciplinary action.

(END SOT) They faced off in the city of

brotherly love but Hillary Clinton
wasn't

feeling much of it as the democratic
presidential contenders put the

front-runner squarely in their sights.

(SOT JOHN EDWARDS 210600): "SENATOR

CLINTON SAYS SHE BELIEVES SHE CAN BE
THE

CANDIDATE FOR CHANGE - BUT SHE DEFENDS
A BROKEN SYSTEM."

Accused of flip-flopping and
double-talk--

(SOT SENATOR BARACK OBAMA/D-IL 210344):

"SHE TOOK ONE POSITION ON TORTURE AND

THEN ANOTHER. SHE VOTED FOR A WAR
AUTHORIZING TROOPS AND LATER SAID IT
WAS A

WAR FOR DIPLOMACY."

Senator Clinton - sandwiched between
her main detractors - shrugged off the

attacks, defended her track record and
tried to focus on the White House.

(SOT SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON/D-NY

214412): "WE'VE GOT TO TURN THE PAGE ON

GEORGE BUSH AND DICK CHENEY. IN FACT -
WE HAVE TO THROW THE WHOLE BOOK AWAY."

It was the democrats first debate in a
month, and during that time Clinton has

solidified her position, gaining in
polls, taking the lead in fundraising,
and

dominating the agenda. With the
nomination seemingly slipping away, her

opponents hammered her early and often.

(SOT JOHN EDWARDS 214905): "WILL SHE BE

THE PERSON WHO BRINGS ABOUT CHANGE IN

THIS COUNTRY? I BELIEVE IN SANTA
CLAUS, I BELIEVE IN THE TOOTH FAIRY,
BUT I

DON'T THINK THAT'S GONNA HAPPEN."

(oncam)

While Clinton has a solid lead in most
nationwide polls, she doesn't in

Iowa...where she and Barack Obama are
virtually tied. And that caucus is
just

two months away.

Even if a person is initially
turned off by an ad...four to six weeks
