<< I'm meteorologist Robin Reed in the
SkyTracker 7 Forecast Center. A cold
front will race toward the coast
tonight with skies turning mostly
clear. Breezes will diminish a bit,
with a northwest wind overnight around
10-15mph. Temperatures will be much
cooler by Friday morning, with lows
forecast around the middle 30s. Expect
sunny skies Friday, Saturday and Sunday
with highs near 60. Winds will be
fairly light from the north. Nighttime
low temperatures are going to be chilly
in the middle 30s through the weekend.
While the forecast is quiet the next
few days, we'll be monitoring for our
next opportunity for rain. Right now,
that looks like it won't arrive until
early next week; probably on Tuesday
when a cold front is scheduled to cross
the area . While that's several days
away, rain chances look very light with
that feature, so don't expect much wet
weather! THURSDAY NIGHT: Turning
mostly clear and cooler. Low: 38
FRIDAY: Sunny and cooler. High: 59
FRIDAY NIGHT: Clear and cold. Low: 36

The debate over those homemade roadside

Webb. high temperatures - all topics of
(END SOT) conversation the last month, but will
November be the month we finally see a
change?
++++++++++
If you haven't reached for your jacket
yet, chances are you will soon. Average
highs continue to cool from the mid 50s
to around 60. Nighttime temperatures in
the low and mid 30s is certainly a
signature of fall.
++++++++++
SU: It's a great time of the year to
enjoy our region's natural beauty, but
we'd like to enjoy some more rain!
++++++++++
November usually offers around
three-inches of rainfall, but in recent
months we've been shy of typical
amounts. Who knows, maybe we'll get
snow! It could happen. Roanoke,
Lynchburg and Blacksburg average around
one to 1.5 inches of snow.
++++++++++
SU: The Roanoke Valley Astronomical
Society reports plenty of activity this
month. For a complete rundown, visit
our astronomy section on the weather
page at wdbj7.com.
++++++++++
Of particular note, Mars will be hard
to miss. It's bright orangish-red glow
rises in the northeast at the beginning
of the month. Also look for the Full
Beaver Moon on the 24th.
++++++++++
SU: Sleepy? Set your clocks back 1 hour
in a few days on the 4th as Daylight
Saving Time ends. Also, our fairly
quiet hurricane season ends November
31st. Have a great month, I'm
SkyTracker7 Meteorologist Jay Webb.
