File Tape Parents were sent a letter this week
that says now that the rats are gone, a
special cleaning company will start
cleaning the school sometime next week.

They will replace ceiling tiles and
light covers .

The ventilation system in Building C
will be cleaned.

Also, every exposed surface will be
sanitized.

That process is expected to last
until the second week of December.

After that, administrators will
watch the building for 10 days for
signs of any other rodents.

If no problems are detected after
that, students will be allowed back
into the school.

Fairview was closed just before the
start of the school year.

We have another piece of
breaking news right now.

Police are investigating the
discovery of a possible mortar shell
at a Roanoke business.

City police say it was found
near Black Dog Salvage, near Memorial
Bridge.

State Police are handling

the investigation and are treating it
as a piece of live ammunition.

We'll have more information on
that and today's health scare at
William Byrd as it becomes available.
