William Byrd High School.

district officials and two
environmental consulting companies this
afternoon. Here's what they've told us.

This investigation is not over
though.
Air and water quality tests were
conducted but more testing will be done

added to ConRock's existing facility on
Kessler Mill Road caused dozens of
nearby residents to speak out in
opposition.
According to a letter to the city
of Salem - the company has withdrawn
its request which would have been heard
by council on November 12th.
But, members of the community say
it isn't over yet- they want the issue
taken off the agenda.
They're still holding an
informational meeting on Thursday night
for those against the project.

State Police say it happened a
year ago at a haunted house fundraiser
held in this building.
Sheffield and another former
officer are accused of several sex

The trial is expected to last

This afternoon, students at Rocky
Mount Elementary handed over more than
two thousand dollars for a project
called "Pennies for Playground."
The new playground is a
community- wide project spearheaded by
the Rotary Club.
When it's finished, the 65
thousand dollar fun center will be the
first- ever playground in the county
specifically designed to include
disabled children...though it's not
just for them.
It should be completed early next
year in front of Rocky Mount Elementary
School.
