If they can win at least four of
the 23 seats the Republicans now hold
in the 40-member Senate, they will have
their first Senate majority in a dozen
years.

In the 100-seat House, it's far
less likely Democrats will gain the 11
GOP seats they need to take control.

For Democrats, winning the Senate
is key.

It's the last Senate race before
the General Assembly redraws

front quickly crosses the area. A few

light showers are possible, however,
most of these will stay west of the
Roanoke Valley. Once the front passes
to the east early Tuesday morning,
we'll see clearing skies, but that's
when the real fun begins! Winds will
increase from the northwest during the
day Tuesday with highs only in the low
50s. Gusts will be near 25-35mph. We'll
stay mostly clear to partly cloudy for
the rest of the week with temperatures
below average.

NOTE: A few snow showers are possible
Tuesday morning and Tuesday night in
the Highlands and the Greenbrier Valley
of West Virginia. The relatively warm
ground will prevent much accumulation.

MONDAY: Sunny, breezy and warmer. High:

MONDAY NIGHT: A few showers, not as
cool. Breezy. Low: 41

TUESDAY: Turning sunny and windy. Much
cooler. High: 53
