Natasha, according to the
Virginia Public Access Project,
candidates running for seats in the
legislature collectively raised more
than 53- million dollars.... that's
more money than has ever been spent on
house and senate races.

Natasha a lot of that money was
spent in Northern Virgina and Hampton
Roads but quite a bit was spent in our
regions.
NATASHA: Who were some of the big
spenders in our region?

JENN: In the 22nd Senatorial District
Democrat candidate Mike Breiner raised
more than 600- thousand dollars... the
Democratic Party pumped nearly 90-
thousand into that race.

Reynolds raised more than 500- thousand
dollars.... the Democratic Party
contributed more than 120- thousand of
it.

In the 14th House District Adam
Tomer raised more than 360-
thousand.... more than incumbant
Republican Delegate Danny Marshall.
NATASHA: But Jenn, we've seen tonight
that the candidates with the most money
don't always win.
JENN: Adam Tomer has conceeded the
race to Republican Danny Marshall.
Republican Ralph Smith beat Mike
Breiner in the 22nd Senate District.
NATASHA; And Jenn Democrats were
really hoping to pick up that seat.
JENN: I was at Mike Breiner's camp
earlier tonight and folks there were
very optomistic. In all they'd really
like to pick up four seats to take the
majority ... currently Republicans hold
23- seats - Demcrats 17.
There are still some close races
in northern Virginia - if Democrats tie
Republicans in the Senate Republicans
still have an advantage because
Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling is the
tie- breaker on votes and he's a
Republican.

Fifty dogs rescued from a puppy
mill in Carroll County need homes...
Angels of Assisi in Roanoke
took them in and the staff is making
sure the dogs get some much needed
TLC....
The dogs will be spayed and
neutered, groomed, their teeth will be
cleaned and they'll get their
shots...making them completely
adoptable.
Because of all the extra
medical attention the adoption fee will
be slightly higher than the normal 80
dollars.

choking hazards.

VO-NAT Fisher-Price is recalling about
155-thouand kitchen type toys.
The company has received 48
reports of parts coming off the toys.
The reports warn of a gagging or
choking harzard.
The toys recalled are a sink, a
refrigerator and a stove. The consumer
product safety commission says the
toysa are stammped with the code
L-5-0-6-7
And were sold between May and
October.

He's recommending that inspectors
be stationed in countries that are

have your T-V doing a double take.

VO-NAT Writers in Los Angeles and New
York are striking over how much they
are paid for shows that are streamed or
downloaded on the internet.
For now, most primetime T-V fans
won't notice a difference, because
those scripts are stocked.
However, they could be gone by
January and that means re-runs.
David Letterman and Jay Leno have
already announced they will show
re-runs all week.
The last walk out lasted 22 weeks
and cost an estimated 500-million
dollars.

themselves are more than 80 years old.

World War Two veterans were finally
given their high school diplomas ...
more than 60 years after they left
school to serve their country.
Many of them went on to get their
G-E-D when they returned ... but the
lack of a diploma was something that
was always in the back of their minds.
