<< Good evening, I'm Meteorologist
Robin Reed in the SkyTracker7 Forecast
Center. The high temperature today in
Roanoke was 48 and the low was 28.
Variably cloudy skies are forecast
through tonight as upper level energy
from the Ohio Valley rotates toward us.
Overnight lows won't be quite as cold
in the mid 30s. The weather maps are
still indicating a weak Alberta clipper
approaching the area Friday. As is
typical with "clipper systems", it'll
pass through quickly Friday, providing
more clouds than sunshine, and a chance
of a few light showers. Mountain snow
showers are also possible; mainly on
the western facing slopes of the
Greenbrier Valley, the Allegheny
Highlands and possibly the New River
Valley. The ground is still pretty
warm; so no accumulation is forecast -
just conversational. High temperatures
Friday will still be chilly - near 50.
The clipper is heading east of the area
by Saturday, with high pressure
returning from the midwest. The weekend
calls for a slight warming trend with
mostly to partly sunny skies. Dry
conditions with warming temperatures
are forecast into early next week. Get
