APRISA WEATHER MINI OPEN
<< Variably cloudy skies are forecast
through tonight as upper level energy
from the Ohio Valley rotates toward us.
Overnight lows won't be quite as cold
in the mid 30s.
The weather maps are still indicating a
weak Alberta clipper approaching the
area Friday. As is typical with
"clipper systems", it'll pass through
quickly Friday, providing more clouds
than sunshine, and a chance of a few
light showers. Elevation dependant snow
showers are also possible; mainly on
the western facing slopes of the
Greenbrier Valley, the Allegheny
Highlands and possibly the New River
Valley. The ground is still pretty
warm; so no accumulation is forecast -
just conversational. High temperatures
Friday will still be chilly - near 50.
The clipper is heading east of the area
by Saturday, with high pressure
returning from the midwest. The weekend
calls for a slight warming trend with
mostly to partly sunny skies.
Dry conditions with warming
temperatures are forecast into early
next week.
THURSDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Not as
cold. Low: 34
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy, 20% isolated
showers. High: 53 >>

Here, the refs test the air pressure
of the balls before the game.

It is now ten o'clock, the gates open
for fans and the team arrives to a
hero's welcome.
((NAT SOUND OF CHEERING, clip 218,

30 minutes later, we're allowed to
tag along as the refs go to meet with
Coach Beamer. This week, it's very
brief.
A hour before kick-off, traffic is
backed up and fans start to enter the
stadium in droves.
By 11:45, a group of coaches is
getting in the elevator to head to the
booth above the field.
The stands are full and shortly after
noon it's time for kick-off.
