GRAPHIC=FFE Good evening everybody and

welcome to Friday Football Extra on a
history making night. For the first
time ever we have a mix of playoff and
regular season games taking place on
the same night.

This of course is due to the new
expanded playoffs in Region Three in
which six teams and not the normal four
advanced to the postseason this year.
GRAPHIC=BOTETOURT/LIBERTY

One of the first round games took
place in Daleville where the Lord
Botetourt Cavaliers hosted Liberty.
Botetourt was the four seed in Region
Three, division three, while Liberty
was seeded fifth - although neither
team entered the game with a winning
record.

Liberty vs. Lord Botetourt The LB fans didn't have their :00 rain gear so they just took their
shirts off to keep from getting them
wet.

The homestanding Cavs made it

look easy early as Emory Straub drops
back and hits a wide open Casey Weddle,
who rolls into the endzone to give LB a
6-to-nothing lead.

But maybe it was too easy,
because Liberty got busy. Thomas Clark
bangs in from the four and it's tied at
6 after the missed kick.

But Liberty was far from
finished. Fuquan Goode goes right up
the middle from the 12, no one wants to
tackle him, so he just takes it to the
house and makes it a 13-to-6 game in
favor of the Minutemen.

It was a 20-to-6 game before
Goode did his thing again as he breaks
the line of scrimmage and scores with
ease from the 26. *CG ffefinal Liberty

Lord Botetourt Liberty would put the game away 14 late in the third with as Lavarta
Tanner scores from in tight.

The Minutemen roll to the 47 to
14 win over Lord Botetourt.

Broadway vs. Harrisonburg We pick this one up in the third :00 with Heritage on top 14-to-nothing, and

A.J. Payne hands off to Korrey
Davis and Davis will slip through the
middle and he will go untouched for a
20 yard touchdown as the Pioneers push
their advantage to 21-to-nothing at
City Stadium.

Broadway would try to get off the
mat in some fashion as Adam Kaplinger
completes the long pass to Terry
Shifflettt and he will take it to the
house for the 43 yard touchdown. It's

now 21-to-6 Heritage.

Broadway was not finished.
Kapplinger fakes the handoff and takes
the ball in from three yards out to
make it a 21-to-14 games after the
successful two poiint conversion.

Now in the fourth, Heritage will
put it away and end any thoughts of an
upset as Payne hits Mike Petty in the
endzone for the 25 yard touchdown.

Floyd Co. vs. Radford Veteran coach Winfred Beale gets :00 his Buffaloes fired up as they come out
of the lockeroom trailing by 8 points
heading to the second half.

The Bobcats Charvis Claytor will
take the snap, fake the handoff, and he
will run toward the left side of the
field. He will break a few tackles and
carry the ball all the way to the 47
yard line as he picks up 24 yards on
the play.

Claytor would keep coming. This
time he heads to his right, can't find
a hole, so he swings back to his left
and he will carry it to the 19 yard
line before he's knocked out of bounds.

Radford would then let Michael
Goodman drill the 21 yard field goal
and Radford takes a 17-to-6 lead in the
third trying to play the role of
spoiler.

Floyd would try to make something
happen as Luke Harris hands off to
Travis Bolt, who will tuck it in and
power right up the middle for 17 yards
before he was tackled by William
Sanders at the 43.

Harris would run to his right
fire the ball down field, only to have
it picked off by Radford's Mr.
Everything Claytor. *CG ffefinal Floyd Co.

25 He makes the pick on the 20 and Radford then takes it all the way back 80 yards 27 for the TD. Radford takes a 24 to 6

After another Titans' fumble the
Knights drove down the field and Zac

take it all the way to the zone from

GRAPHIC=PLAYER OF THE WEEK It is now time to hand out the

Friday Football Extra Player of the
Week award and we have somewhat of a
repeat performer from last season.

GRAPHIC=LATRELL KEYS We will say he got half an award

last year as Latrell Keys won it in
2-thosuand and 6 along with his Cousin
Greg Keys.

Latrell said at that time that he
would be back and the Senior Running
Back more than lived up to his word.

Grant Kittelson checks in with
the Solo Key this time around who last
week put up some very impressive
Numbers.

OQ=Friday Football Extra. << Number 22 Latrell Keys carried
(END SOT) the ball 25 times for over 2 hundred

and 15 yards against Hidden Valley. On
4 of those Carries, Keys went all the
way to the endzone as the Bruins rolled
the Titans 52 to 14

(BITES:)

(STANDUP: What made Keys performance
even better is the fact the just 4 Days
before the Bruins took on Hidden
Valley, He had played a game against
Pulaksi County on the road, which was a
hard fought come from behind Blacksburg
Win.

(BITES:)

The stamina from the Senior can
be traced back to before the season
even started.

The Bruins would like to continue
to unlock victories for weeks to come.
