DESK 2-SHOT---Leo and Kim << Good morning, I'm Meteorologist Leo

Hirsbrunner in the SkyTracker7 Forecast
Center. The weather maps are still toss to Kim indicating a weak Alberta clipper
approaching the area this morning. As

is typical with "clipper systems",
it'll pass through quickly Friday,
providing more clouds than sunshine,
and a chance of a few light showers.
Mountain snow showers are also
possible; mainly on the western facing
slopes of the Greenbrier Valley, the
Allegheny Highlands and possibly the
New River Valley. The ground is still
pretty warm; so no accumulation is
forecast - just conversational. High
temperatures Friday will still be
chilly - near 50. The clipper is
heading east of the area by Saturday,
with high pressure returning from the
midwest. The weekend calls for a slight
warming trend with mostly to partly

They're partnering with Senator
Jim Webb in hopes of getting the Senate
to pass legislation that grants them
federal recognition.

Although the U-S recognizes more
than 560- Indian tribes, it's never
acknowledged Virginia's tribes.

That's because Virginia's nations
signed their treaty with the British
crown- before the U-S government was up
and running.

Federal recognition would free up
funding for tribal education,
healthcare and housing.

Senator Webb spent months
researching the tribes histories before
agreeing to champion the bill.
