Police say it happened around a
quarter "after" nine.... when a car
headed westbound on Hershberger...
CRASHED into the "columns" that hold up
the bridge... near the Valley View
exit.
The car was in FLAMES when the cops
got there...and the driver was out of
the car... lying on the ground.
A police spokeswoman says they don't
know "how" he got out of the car. He
was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
No word on how SERIOUS his injuries
may be.
Two lanes on the westbound side of
Hershberger were closed while police
investigated the crash.

Surfers were suiting up for waves
up to nine feet tall that were crashing
on the beaches.
The high surf was the product of
a storm that started out in the

Despite frigid waters, fog, and
the danger of getting swept away,
beachgoers were welcoming the big
winter-style waves.

It was a messy Friday morning in
northeastern Minnesota.
The season's first snowfall made
driving a challenge in the Duluth area.
One of the busiest roads,
Interstate five-35 was the scene of a
multiple-car accident.
Several people were taken to the
hospital with non life-threatening
injuries.
A number of other accidents were
reported around Duluth because of the
