County School District has a new
problem on it's hands.

where they're going to get the money to

October 2007 clean the school - following several
MRSA outbreaks last month.
So far, the total tab... about
216 thousand dollars.
The School Board is hoping the
County Board of Supervisors will help
foot the bill.
School officials are also looking
at pulling money from other areas of
the budget.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection
Day.
The next one will be in May, but
there are things you can do now to
prepare.
The Roanoke County Solid Waste
Authority has the funding to handle
one-thousand household's worth of
hazardous waste.
To best deal with the waste,
three separate collection days are held
at the Roanoke Valley Resource
Authority Tinker Creek Transfer
Station.

The collection dates are the
first Sunday in May, August, and
November.
Pre-register is required to
guarantee the number of people using
the service and to let the Solid Waste
Authority know what you're going to
bring.

today from investigators looking into
the unusual symptoms at William Byrd
High school.

On Wednesday, health officials
announced an investigator with the
Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention would be helping with the
investigation.
They said at the time they
weren't sure if they'll ever find the
source.
But administrators announced

300 students opted not to go back to
school.
This was the highest number since the

Police say 15-year-old was
stabbed.
He was taken to the hospital.

came flying through an apartment.

a popular stop on the Blue Ridge
Parkway.

draining Abbott Lake Dam at the base of
the Peaks of Otter.
Officials recently discovered the
dam poses a hazard to areas downstream
in the event of a flood.
While repairs are made this
