to reveal results of surface testing in
the school's kitchen and cafeteria.


An independent contractor's tests
for foreign substances came back
NEGATIVE.


That includes tests for molds and
pesticides.

Police say freshman Steven
Friday, was involved in a fight in
Blacksburg early Sunday morning and was
arrested.

A crowd of nearly 100 people from
a Blacksburg nightclub spilled onto
Draper Road.


Police say several smaller fights
were going on while people watched and

later, in another incident, guns were
fired at a Chasewood Downs apartment
along Appalachian Drive.


According to police, there were
seven rounds from a 9 millimeter gun
and a single shotgun blast to the
building.


Three male Tech students were in
the apartment at the time.


No one was hurt... no one's been
arrested that case.

injured in an assault in Blacksburg
last night.


It happened last night just
before seven o'clock.


Police say the victim was walking
alone on West Turner Street when she
was grabbed from behind and dragged
into some bushes.


She was later treated and
released for facial injuries at the
hospital.


The suspect is described as a
male, approximately six feet tall.


He was wearing all black, gloves,
and a mask.

murder of a U-V-A grad student.

dead inside her home Thursday night.

out of time to find homes for dogs
seized from Michael Vick.


Yesterday's deadline was extended
24- hours because of the federal
Veterans Day holiday.

"Bad Newz Kennels" operation in Surry
County last April.


The dogs have been in shelters
since then.


Once the applications are
received, federal inspectors want to
inspect the places where dogs would be
housed.
