Investigators arrested 21 year
old Clinton Eric Burke around midnight.
He was at his mother's home in
the Gladsboro section of the county.

home in Fancy Gap.
A third teen was grazed by
bullets.
The Sheriff has not released a
motive for the killings but says the

released survelliance video in hopes of
catching the suspects who robbed a gun
store in Collinsville.

It happened yesterday afternoon
around two o'clock at the Southern Gun
Shop.
Two suspects came in armed,
handcuffed the clerk, and forced him to
the floor.
In all, the robbers took between 50
to 75 firearms, all were handguns and
revolvers.

hands full investigating not one, but
two armed robberies from last night.
The first one happened just before
7-30-- when three men wearing ski masks
entered a home on Hughes Street.
The suspects took money from the
victims and fled.
About an hour later... a man was
robbed in the parking lot of the Fas
Mart on Goodyear Boulevard.
Again, the suspects were two men
wearing ski masks.
No shots were fired in either incident.
Anyone with information about the
robberies is asked to call Danville

It all started last night, when
security at the Showboat casino
reported a man on a shuttle bus with a

moving in to town.
Last night the Town Council set
aside 100-thousand dollars for its
legal battle to appeal a zoning board
decision.

rezone three and a half acres of land
owned by Liberty University from
Resource Conservation to a Business
Community district.
It's all part of a total of 186
acres in a 700-thousand square foot
shopping center ... most of that land
is in Campbell County.
Campbell County already rezoned
its land ... Lynchburg was the final
piece to the puzzle.

postseason honors are still being
passed out, even though it's almost
Thanksgiving.
Yesterday, the Cy Young award -
which goes to the best pitcher in
baseball - was handed out in the
American League.

Cleveland's C. C. Sabathia picked
up the honor - giving the Indians
their first Cy Young award winner in 35
years.
Sabathia picked up 19 of 28
first-place votes, and finished with
119 points in balloting done by the
Baseball Writers' Association of
America.
Josh Beckett finished second in
the ballotting with eight first-place
votes and 86 points.
Sabathia went 19-7 with 209
strikeouts this year, as he pitched a
major league-high 241 innings.

new gymnasium at Patrick Henry high
school, they'll notice a change.
The hardwood floor on Grandin
Road will have a special name that
longtime hoops fans in the valley will
remember.

1992 The Roanoke City School Board has
unanimously approved the naming of the
court in honor of former Patrick Henry
head basketball coach Woody Deans.
Deans coached the Patriots to two
Triple A state championships in 1988,
and again in 1992.
He retired in 1996 after coaching
basketball for over 25 years.
A dozen of those were spent as the
head coach of the Patriots.
Deans later served in a number of
capacities at PH. Officially, the
hardwood will be known as Woody Deans
Court at Patriots Gym.

2005 You might remember the judge in
Washington, D-C who filed a 54- million
dollar lawsuit earlier this year
against a dry cleaner.
Roy Pearson took Custom Cleaners to
court over a missing pair of pants--
saying the cleaner didn't live up to
his expectation of ``Satisfaction
Guaranteed.''
City officials have voted
unanimously not to reappoint Pearson to
his post as an administrative law
judge.
By the way, Pearson also lost his
lawsuit.
