News 7 has learned there are now
allegations of fraud.

council election last November.

Bev Fitzpatrick were essentially kicked
out of the Democratic party after
supporting an independent group of
candidates, not the party-backed ones.

Now there appears to be another
dispute, although it's unclear who may
be behind it.

here in an interview last year is
alleging someone called the State Board
of Elections pretending to be her, and
requested a firehouse primary to select
the party's mayor and city council
candidates next year - rather than a

causing that mysterious illness at
William Byrd High School.

The Health Department confirmed

tonight leaders plan to meet with the
families in the next few days to give
them the latest information.

arrested a second person in a double
murder case.

Amanda Payne of Hillsville is
charged as a principle to first degree
murder, and she faces two conspiracy
counts.

VO-NAT 21 year old Clinton Eric Burke

was arrested Wednesday.

He's charged with two counts of

first degree murder.

in Fancy Gap early Tuesday morning.

A third teen was wounded.

The Sheriff has not released a
motive for the killings but says the
people inside the home were targeted by
Burke.

rise in Virginia, and the state is
asking questions.

road during the holidays, and this
year, Virginia has already seen an
alarming increase in the number of
fatal accidents.

This week the State Police,
V-DOT, DMV and Triple A are launching a
campaign that asks, "Are You Virginia's
next traffic fatality?

By posting the message at
interstate rest areas, they hope
drivers will look in the mirror and
consider how they can improve their

safety on the road.

V-DOT is also moving forward with
a construction project in Montgomery
County that should make Interstate 81
safer.

And for the next few weeks, a
helicopter is helping to get the
project off the ground.

A crew from New Mexico is lifting
pieces of drilling equipment to sites
that are difficult to reach from
existing roads.

V-DOT is collecting soil and rock
samples, as the agency develops plans
for new climbing lanes between mile
marker 128 and 119.

The Department wants to warn
drivers about the activity, so they
aren't alarmed or distracted by the
helicopter.

Randolph College ...it's on hold again
tonight ... after the Virginia Supreme
Court intervened.

injunction last week to prevent the
college from auctioning off the artwork
... but they missed yesterday's
deadline to post a 10-million dollar
bond.

The state's high court today
lowered that bond to 1 million dollars

-- for the group to come up with the
money.

The college says it's disappointed
by the ruling, but will abide by it.

Jimmie Johnson will have to blow

title, but Jeff Gordon still has an
