unsual twitching that effected several
people from William Byrd High School.

A parent who's child suffers from
the twitching tells News 7 the health
department says STRESS is to blame.
All of this came out during a
Friday night meeting - where only the
families who've dealt with this
firsthand were invited.
This information has not been
revealed to the general public but the
Health Department is expected to issue
a statement either tomorrow or Tuesday.
During the height of this scare
about 300 students refused to go to
class.
The school system hired an
independent contractor to conduct
surface tests in the kitchen and
cafeteria to learn more about the
mysterious illness, but the tests
showed nothing that would pose a
threat.

envisioned a parkway to Smith Mountain

Mountain Zoo, and a scenic rail line.

later, the Virginia DAre was dead in
the water. One peron was suffering
from heart problems. Another had

compartment. A third was unconscious
on the steps to the upper deck.

Virginia for a prison escapee.
Alonzo Erwin Logan is considered
armed and dangerous.
He broke out of the Dillwyn
Correctional Center in Buckingham
County late Friday night.
Authorities recovered a van in
Henrico County that they believe Logan
stole in Buckingham.
They also believe the prisoner
broke into someone's home and stole a
shotgun.

serving his country
The Department of Defense
announced today Sergeant Mason L. Lewis
from Gloucester GLAW- ster died Friday
in Baghdad as a result of a non-combat
training accident.
No specifics on what type of
training but an investigation has been
launched.
Lewis was 26-years-old.

trees and close Wiley Drive as part of
the flood control plan.

homerun with its latest project.
The Recreation and Conservation
Association broke ground on a million
dollar facility.

will be a football field, four baseball
fields, a picnic area and walking
track.
Work will be going on throughout

today in Homestead, Florida, 36 races
and nearly 10 months after it started
back at Daytona.
Jimmie Johnson started on the
pole in the Ford 400 as he tried to
claim his 2nd consecutive Cup
Championship.

before leaving for Hendrick
Motorsports. Junior rode thru the
grass on his way to the pit lane and
then got spun by Kyle Busch on his way
to a 36th place finish.
Former Cup champ Tony Stewart
spun to bring out a late caution flag
as he smacks the wall with the back end
of the Home Depot machine.
Matt Kenseth had the dominant car
today leading 214 of the 267 laps on
his way to taking the checkered flag.
But while Kenseth won the
battle, Johnson won the war, finishing
7th to claim the points title over his
teammate Jeff Gordon by 77 points.
Gordon finished 4th in the race.

game against the Eagles, the Redskins
hit the road for another NFC East
tussle against the Cowboys today in
week 11 of the NFL season.
Starting quarterbacks Jason
Campbell and Tony Romo were both at the
midway point of their first seasons as
full time starters.

Terrell Owens. T-O hauled in 8 catches
for a personal best 173 yards. This
touchdown was one of four on the day
for Romo and Owens and made it 14-10
Cowboys late in the third.
The two did it again just a few

Campbell kept his cool though
and the Skins responded when Santana
Moss hauled in this short scoring
catch.
But the Cowboys had just

huge showdown looming on Saturday in
Charlottesville, and both teams will be
highly ranked.
The Hokies are now 8th in both
the Coaches and the A-P polls, while
Virgnia is 16th in the AP and 15th in
the Coaches rankings.
The Cavs will face a Tech offense
that seems to have gelled in the past
three weeks, racking up 111 points and
more than 12 hundred yards in 3 league
wins.
Five of the Hokies 12 TD passes
have come in that same time frame, due

GRAPHIC=Christmas Trees For months, we've heard how the
drought has effected area and state
crops - but this Christmas Virginians
will be seeing green.

VO-NAT Green Christmas trees that is.
The Virginia Christmas Tree
Growers Association reports this years
trees weren't ruined by the drought -
But Christmases to come are
another story.
*CG locator Craig Co. In Craig County, the owner of one tree
farm, lost nearly half of this year's
seedlings which means trees that would
be harvested and sold 10 years from now
could be in trouble.
As far as the price of trees go
this season, the association reports
it's possible high gas prices could
drive up the cost.
