This afternoon, it was announced
what most likely is causing the
mysterious illness at the school.

believes it is stress that's been
causing the twitching.

department all the test results at Byrd
to date are consistent with an illness
they cannot be explained by any
neurological disorder or environmental
toxin.
However, officials believe the
symptoms experienced by those involved
are real.
School administrators say the
health department's findings prove the
school is safe.

voluntarily turned himself over to U-S
marshals in Richmond shortly before
noon.
He's being held at the Northern
Neck Regional Jail in Warsaw, Virginia.
Vick has not been sentenced for
his guilty plea to a federal dog
fighting charge.
That is supposed to happen on
December 10th.
Vick's Attorney says his
surrender demonstrates Vick's
willingness to accept responsibility
for his actions.
He faces up to 5 years in prison
and still has state charges pending
against him.

soon in the Roanoke Valley.

Hollow Reservoirs are only slightly
below normal for this time of year.
But with the continuing drought,
the Western Virginia Water Authority is
looking ahead to next year.
Today, officials told Roanoke
City Council that if we don't get a lot
of rain, they may call for voluntary
conservation in January or February,
and mandatory conservation measures by
late Spring.

A woman that knows all about how
platelets save lives...just ask her 3
year old son.
Michelle Abbot was the guest
speaker at a donor appreciation dinner.
Her son Shane had a congenital
birth defect and needed platelets
eleven separate times right after he
was born.
The American Red Cross wanted to
recognize nearly 50 donors for giving
the "max" 24 times per year. So they
held a dinner at the Roanoke Civic
Center.

not many of you regularly travel to
shop- in fact only about 13 percent do.
While 43 percent say they
occasionally leave the area to shop and
the same amount 43 percent say they
almost never spend their money at
stores out of town.
That would indicate that people
in this region are generally happy with
the shopping choices..
The majority of those surveyed
are satisfied with the area's
shopping... 78 percent are either
satisfied or very satisfied with the
amount and variety of retail in the
Roanoke Valley- only 20 percent found
are not very satisfied or not at all
satisfied with the shopping choices.

basketball team was in Blackbsurg
tonight looking to make a little
history. Despite all of the great
teams LU has produced in the Carey
Green era - no Liberty team has ever
been able to beat the Hokies in women's
hoops.

broke down Sunday night after more than
12 hours of negotiations
Theater producers say they are
disappointed that the talks have broken
off.
All performances through November
25th, the big Thanksgiving holiday
weekend, have been cancelled.
