twitching symptoms at William Byrd High
School.

After studying the situation and
interviewing students and parents - the
Virginia Department of Health says the
illness is ((board #1)) consistent with
a social phenomenon that suggests a
physical illness but lacks an
identified cause... "

The health department's news release
goes onto say that *STRESS* possibly
played a role in the illness.
But, that doesn't mean - this was all
in these patients have any
psychological disorder.

The health department says the evidence
is *OVERWHELMING* the majority of the
illnesses were motivated by
"sociogenic" or social influences.
But, the health department can't say
for sure that everyone suffered from

slipped and fell several hundred yards

The Carvins Cove and Spring
Hollow Reservoirs are only slightly
below normal for this time of year.
But with the continuing drought,
the Western Virginia Water Authority is
looking ahead to next year.
Today, officials told Roanoke
City Council that if we don't get a lot
of rain, they may call for voluntary
conservation in January or February,
and mandatory conservation measures by
late Spring.
