again.
In fact, at a national average of 3-
0- 9 a gallon... they're up 13 cents
from just two weeks ago.
And with crude oil prices still on
the rise...it appears there's no
relief in sight.

Gas prices are approaching record highs
during one of the busiest travel weeks
of the year.

Nationwide, the average price of a
gallon of regular gasoline is
$3.09....that's an increase of almost
13 cents a gallon during the past two
weeks and about 86 cents gallon higher
than this time last year.

Here in New York City...prices are even
higher than the national
average....but many who drive for a
living have no choice but to pay... no
matter what it costs .

And all this comes during a week where
an estimated 38 million Americans plan
to travel 50 miles or more from home
for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The higher gas prices impact more than
drivers. Major airlines have been
forced to raise prices to cover the
cost of surging jet fuel. American
Airlines says their fuel oil costs have
risen 32 percent since the beginning
of the year.
Worldwide oil prices rose again Monday
and OPEC is now considering selling
crude using the EURO instead of the
weak U-S dollar. Industry experts
say
that could further inflate the cost of
oil. .. and bring the price to a record
100 dollars a barrel before the end of
the year.

The alarm was heard all over

A parent whose child suffers from
the twitching tells News 7 the health
department says STRESS is to blame.
All of this came out during a
Friday night meeting - where only the
families who've dealt with this
firsthand were invited.
This information has not yet been
revealed to the general public.
During the height of this scare,
about 300 students refused to go to
class.
The school system hired an
independent contractor to conduct
surface tests in the kitchen and
cafeteria.
They were trying to learn more
about the mysterious illness, but the
tests showed nothing that would pose a
threat.
